A steel grill of at least 1/8" material under the skylight and securely fastened. ~ All hatchway op~nings on the roof of any building shall be secured as follows: 1. If the hatchway is of wooden material, if shall be covered on the outside with at least 16-gauge sheet steel or its equivalent attached with screws. 2. Outside hinges on all hatchway openings shall be provided with non" removable pins when using pin-type hinges. ~ A Knox box shall be installed at hatchway to allow Police/Fire access to interior. ~ Exterior roof access ladder should be eliminated or moved into the interior. Exterior ladders allow easy roof access for criminals, etc. This ladder should be relocated within the building main resident tenant space. ~ All air duct or air vent openings exceeding 8" x 12" on the rooftop or exterior walls of any building shall be secured by covering the same with either of the following: 1. If the barrier is secured to the outside of the structure, it shall be secured with galvanized rounded head flush bolts of at least 3/8" diameter on the outside. .. LIGHTING: ~ Monument signs and addresses shall be well lighted during hours of darkness. ~ Premises, if closed for business after dark, must be sufficiently lighted by use of interior night-lights. ~ Minimum recommended lighting level in all parking lots is one foot-candle, with a maximum to minimum ratio no greater than 15:1. 3 r o Minimum recommended lighting level for covered portions of all parking garages is five foot-candles, with a maximum to minimum ratio no greater than 10:1. ~ Adequate lighting of parking lots and associated carports, shipping and receiving areas, driveways, circulation areas, aisles, passageways, recesses, and grounds contiguous to buildings shall be provided with lighting of sufficient wattage to provide adequate illumination to make clearly visible the presence of any person on or about the premises during the hours of darkness and provide a safe, secure environment for all persons, property and vehiclesonsite. g/ All exterior doors shall have their own light source which shall adequately illuminate door areas at all hours to make clearly visible the presence of any person on or about the premises and provide adequate illumination for persons exiting the building. LANDSCAPING: ~ landscaping shall be of the type and situated in locations to maximize observation while providing the desired degree of aesthetics. Security planting materials are encouraged along fence and property lines and under vulnerable windows. ~ Trees should not be planted close enough to the structure to allow easy access to the roof, or kept trimmed to make climbing difficult.
