The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published once in the Anaheim Gazette, a weekly newspaper printed, published and cir- culated in said -City .of Anaheim, and thirty days thereafter it shall take effect and be in ,full force. For the purpose of this ordinance an apprentice shall be deemed to be any person doing Plumbing work under the direct supervision and in the presence of a certified master plumber or a certified journeyman plumber, and such apprentice is required to have a permit from said Examining Board of Plumbers to do such Plumbing work. Section 57. The Examining Board of Plumbers shall give an examina- tion to each applicant for a certi- ficate to do plumbing work in the City of Anaheim within two (2) weeks after the filing of the appli- cation therefor and the payment of the fee incident thereto; and every applicant passing such examina- tion to the satisfaction of the said Examining Board shall receive from the said board a certificate of competency as a Master plumber force. Every master plumber or journeyman plumber holding a certificate of competency issued by the said Examining Board of Plumbers may, during the month of December of each year, make application to the Ex- amining Board of Plumbers for an ,extension of such certificate of competency for an additional year, and said Examining Board of Plumbers, if satisfied that the holder of such certificate of com- petency is competent to do plumb- ing work, shall grant an extension of such certificate of competency for an additional year without an examination. No plumber failing to make such application to obtain such extended certificate -of com- petency during such time shall do any plumbing work in the City of Anaheim after the expiration of the certificate of competency then held without taking the examina- tion and paying the full fee herein provided for persons originally de- siring to do plumbing work in the City of Anaheim. For the purpose of this Ordinance a journeyman plumber shall be deemed to be any person who is employed to do plumb- ing work for wages.. -or salary-, but who does not furnish any material or supplies in this execution or performance of plumbing work. - 1 - Section -56. For the purpose of this Ordinance an apprentice shall be deemed to be any person doing plumbing work under the di- rect supervision and in the presence of a certified master plumber or a certified journeyman plumber, and such apprentice is required to have a permit from said Examining Board of Plumbers to do such plumb- ing work, Section 57. The Examining Board of Plumbers shall give an examination to each applicant for a certificate to do plumbing work in the City of Anaheim within two (2) weeks after the filing of the application therefor and the payment of the fee incident thereto; and every applicant passing such examination to the satisfaction of the said Examining Board shall receive from the said Board a certificate of competency as a master plumber or a journeyman plumber in accord- ance with his application; and such certificate of competency shall authorize the holder thereof to do plumbing won!: in the City of Ana- heim until the first day of Ja:�uary next succeeding the date thereof. Section 58. The City Council of the City of Anaheim shall have the power to suspend or cancel the eertific-ate of any master plumber or journeyman plumber for violation cf t1iis Ordinance or for incompetency. Section 59. All certificates issued by the Examining Board of Plumbers shall expire on the last day of December of each year un- less sooner revoked.
