AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM PROHIBITING T H E,
MAINTENANCE OF,. OR PARTICIi
PATION IN, ANY PUB,IIC SO-
CALLED "MARATHON ' 1)ANCE,»
"WALRATHON,» "ENDURATION,»
OR ANY PUBLIC HUMAN ENDUR-
ANCE CONTEST OR EXHIBITION
OF A SIMILAR NATURE, AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE'
PROVISIONS HEREOF. '
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION: 1. It shall be unlawful for
any person, firm, corporation or associ-
ation of persons to conduct, carry on,
manage or maintain, or to cause or per-
mit to be eonducted,.>cartied on, manag-
ed or maintained, or for any pemon " to
participate in, or to cause or permit to .
be participated in, or to aid or assist
in the conducting or maintenance of,
any public so-called "marathoa dance,"
"walkathon," "enduration" "speedaL
thon," or any public human endurance
dancing, walking,, running,. skipping,
jumping, sliding, gliding,'aIfting,..stand
ing, rolling or crawling. contest orex-.
hibition, under any other designation, or,
name, or any similar public exhibition;
or contest of human endurance in daac-
ing, walking, running, skipping, jump-
ing, sliding, gliding, . sitting,, standing,>
rolling or crawling, within the City of
Anaheim.
SECTION 2. Any person, firm, cor-
poration or association of persons vio-
lating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof, shall be punishable by a line of
not to exceed three hundred (3300.00)
dollars, or by imprisonment in the city
jail for not to exceed three (3) months,
or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Each separate day, or any portion
thereof, during which any violation of
this ordinance occurs or continues shall
be deemed to constitute a separate
offense, and upon conviction therefor,
shall be punishable as herein provided.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall
