ORDINANCE NO. 6223 <br /> AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF <br /> ANAHEIM FIXING AND LEVYING A PROPERTY TAX <br /> ON THE FULL CASH VALUE OF ALL PROPERTY <br /> WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF <br /> ANAHEIM FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2011/2012 AND <br /> DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREFOR AND THAT <br /> THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE IMMEDIATE <br /> EFFECT. <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. <br /> That pursuant to Section 93 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of <br /> California there be, and is fixed and levied, a property tax rate for the fiscal year 2011/2012 of <br /> .00224 percent of full value on all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the <br /> City of Anaheim, for the purpose of paying the annual interest on bonds and such part of the <br /> principal as will become due before the proceeds of the next general tax levy will be available. <br /> The amount of funds to be generated from taxable property within the City of Anaheim as <br /> revenue to pay the voter approved indebtedness from this action is the sum of $674,203.00. <br /> SECTION 2. <br /> That the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall certify to the County Auditor of <br /> Orange County, the foregoing distribution of the tax rate of the City of Anaheim to be extended <br /> by him on the 2011/2012 County Assessment Roll for the collection thereof in the same manner <br /> as County taxes. <br /> SECTION 3. DECLARATION OF URGENCY <br /> That this ordinance is hereby declared to be necessary as an emergency measure <br /> for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health or safety which shall be in full force <br /> and effect immediately upon its adoption pursuant to Section 511 of the City Charter. A <br /> statement of the reasons for such urgency is: <br /> 1. The Anaheim City Charter requires that the City Council fix the rate and levy <br /> taxes each year. <br /> 2. The required financial data necessary to allow the City to determine the tax rate <br /> were not received by the City until August 15, 2011. <br />
