ORDINANCE NO. 6267 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING THE <br />CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION LIMIT FOR THE ELECTION CYCLE <br />COMMENCING JANUARY 1,2013, PURSUANT TO ANAHEIM <br />MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 1.09.050 <br />WHEREAS, Section 1.09.050 of Chapter 1.09 of Title 1 of the Anaheim <br />Municipal Code provides that no person shall make, and no candidate or candidate controlled <br />committee shall accept, any contributions for a city election which would cause the total amount <br />contributed by such person to such candidate or controlled committee to exceed the Contribution <br />Limit amount as established pursuant to such section; and <br />WHEREAS, the contribution limit for the election cycle ending December 31, <br />2012, was $1,800; and <br />WHEREAS, paragraph .0502 of subsection .050 of Section 1.09.050 provides that <br />the City Council shall, by ordinance, adjust the campaign contribution limitation in January of <br />odd -numbered years to reflect any cumulative increase or decrease in the Consumer Price Index <br />for all urban consumers for the Los Angeles -Riverside -Orange Counties Urban Area as <br />announced by the United States Department of Labor since the last adjustment, and that such <br />adjustments shall be rounded off to the nearest hundred dollars for the limitations on <br />contributions; and <br />WHEREAS, the change in the CPI for the two-year period following the last <br />adjustment to the campaign contribution limit in January 2011, is a cumulative increase of 4.3%; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, a 4.3% increase in the previous campaign contribution limit of <br />$1800 equals $1,877, which, rounded to the nearest $100 as required by Section 1.09.050, makes <br />the maximum campaign contribution limit for the election cycle commencing January 1, 2013, <br />$1,900. <br />
