1547ORDINANCE NO. 1547
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING
SECTIONS 1.04.110 AND 1.04.120 OF THE ANAHEIM
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CITY DEPARTMENTS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Section 1.04.110 of the Anaheim Municipal Code
be, and the same is, hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1.04.110 CITY DEPARTMENTS CREATED. There
are hereby created for the government of the City
the following departments:
Police Department
Fire Department
Utilities Department
Public storks Department
Parks and Recreation Department
Building Department
Finance Department
Planning Department
Legal Department
Personnel Department
City Clerk Department, and
Library Department."
SECTION 2.
That Section 1.04.120 of the Anaheim. Municipal Code
be, and the same is, hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1.04.120 PUBLIC WORKS DEPARW ENT. The
Public Works Department shall be under the super-
vision of a Director of Public Works and Superin-
tendent of Streets, which office is hereby created.
The Director of Public Works and Superintendent
of Streets shall have supervision over the follow-
ing public works and divisions of the City:
Engineering Division
Mechanical Maintenance Division
Street Maintenance and Sanitation Division
Property Maintenance Division
Parkway Maintenance Division.
"The Director of Public Works and Superintendent of
Streets shall exercise supervision and control over
all City -owned property and equipment, and the main-
tenance and repair thereof, including all mechanical
and mobile equipment, welding, building, fabrication
of metal parts, maintenance of domestic sewers, street
cleaning, refuse collection, maintenance of City
streets, maintenance of street trees, maintenance of
curbs and sidewalks, maintenance of safety devices,
maintenance of minor structures, drains and culverts,
and other property, except such City -owned properties

or equipment as are, by the provisions of this
-- Code, declared to be under the supervision and
control of the head of some other City department.
"Any and all engineering functions, as defined
by Section 6731 of the Business and Professions
Code of the State of California, necessary or
required to be performed in connection with any
of the above mentioned public works or properties,
shall be done and performed by the City Engineer
of the City of Anaheim, or such other registered
Engineer as may be authorized."
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify tc the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after
its final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by

certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 1547 was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Anaheim held on the 24th day
of January, 1961, and that the same was duly passed and adopted at a
regular meeting of said City Council held on the 31st day of January, 1961,
by the following vote of the members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Chandler, Coons, Fry and Schutte
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Thompson
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim approved
and signed said Ordinance No. 1547 on the 31st day of January, 1961.
