1812• • ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY TITLE 189 CHAPTER 18.56 CIPAL CODE, RELATING TO 1812 OF ANAHEIM AMENDING OF THE ANAHEIM MUNI - ZONING. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS. SECTION 1. That Title 18, Chapter 18.56 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows. - "CHAPTER 18.56 - Mm2, HEAVY INDUSTRIAL ZONE. "SECTION 18.56.010. DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE. This zone is intended to provide for the development of the more in- tensive industrial uses commonly referred to as heavy in- dustrial uses and their related facilities, recognizing the modern day potential with respect to the compatible appearance and performance characteristics of the permitted uses, and further recognizing the unique and valuable in- dustrial land resource existing within the City of Anaheim. This resource is found to have both local and regional significance due to an ideal industrial environment includ- ing central geographic location, regional access and circulation, desirable soil conditions, availability of utilities and services, an 'industrial park' appearance and a well-established industrial base. "SECTION 18.56.020. PERMITTED BUILDINGS STRUCTURES AND USES. The following—EU3373ings, structures and uses, either singly or in combination are permitted in the M®2 Zone. All uses shall be.conducted wholly within a build- ing, except as herein otherwise provided. "Subject to the conditions of this zone, any manufacturing, assemblying, repairing, testing, processing, warehousing, wholesaling, fabrication, research or treatment of products may be conducted, other than those which may be obnoxious or offensive by reason of emission of odor, dust, smoke, gas, noise, vibration, electromagnetic disturbance, radia- tion, or other similar causes detrimental to the public health, safety, or general welfare, including but not limited to the following specific uses-. (1) 3' 4' 5 6= 7 81 19' 10, ' 11 12, 14= 15, Any use permitted in Section 18.52.020 of the M-1 Zone. Alcohol manufacture. Ammonia, -bleaching powder or chlorine manufacture. Automobile repair and overhauling. Blacksmith shop. Boiler and tank manufacturing firm. Brick, fire or terra cotta manufacture. Concrete products manufacture. Cotton gin or oil mill (non -continuous process). Exterminating or disinfecting service firm. Fabrication plant, heavy metals. Feed mill. Fish smoking, curing Oil cloth or linoleum Ore reduction. . - 1 - or canning. manufacture. E 0 (16) Paint, oil, shellac, turpentine or varnish manufacture. (17) Paper pulp manufacture. (18) Plastics, manufacture of. M19) Polish manufacture. ) Potash works. (21) Poultry, dressing, packaging. (22 Railroad repair shop. (23) Rolling and extrusion firm (non-ferrous materials only). (24) Salt works. (25) Soap manufacture . (26) Soda and compound manufacture. (27) Truck repair and overhauling. (28) Wool pulling or scouring. "SECTION 18.56.030. ACCESSORY USES. The provisions of Section 18.52.030 shaTF_app `Ty`._ "SECTION 18.56.040. OUT -DOOR USES. The provisions of Section 18.52.040 sha-1-1-a-pply. In addition, the follow- ing uses are permitted subject to site development standards as specified in Section 18.56.0600 �1) Building material storage yard. 2) Contractors'storage yard. (3) Draying, freighting or'trucking yard or terminal. Drive-in theaters. Feed and fuel yard. Freight classification Large equipment storage Lumber, yard. Petroleum or its fluid storage of. Planing mill. yard. or rental. products,'wholesale Rags, paper, metals, or junk storage. Rock, sand or gravel, wholesale storage or distribution. Stone monument works. Transit, transportation equipment, storage of. Trash transfer station, controlled. and construction publicly operated or Used autos and auto parts Storage. "SECTION 18-56.050'. CONDITIONAL USES. The following uses may be established by Con- ditional Use Permit subject to all conditions and required showings of Chapter 18.64. Site development standards of Section 18.56.060 shall apply-, (A) M-1 uses listed in Section 18.52.050 not otherwise permitted in this zone. (B) Acid manufacture. (C) Animal foods processing. (D) Asphaltic concrete manufacture. (E) Blast furnace or coke oven. (F) Cement, lime, gypsum or plaster of Paris manufacture. (G) Dairies. ® 2 - 0 (H) Drop forge industries. (1) Explosives, manufacture of. (J) Fertilizer manufacture® (K) Foundry firm (all metals). (L) Gas manufacture. (M) Glue manufacture. � N) Lamp black manufacture. 0), Petroleum refining and oil extraction plants. (P) Rolling and extrusion firm (ferrous materials). (Q) Rubber, reclaiming or manufacture, or synthetic rubber or its constituents. (R) Smelting of tin, copper, zinc or iron ores. (S) Poultry slaughter. (T) Tannery. (U) Tar distillation or tar products manufacture. (V) Wineries. (2) The provisions of Section 18.52.050 (2) shall apply. "SECTION 18-56.060. SITE DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS, The pro- visions of Section 18. 2. sh—all apply to all M®2 Zones established after the effective date of this ordinance. These standards are established to encourage the heavier types of industry to develop and operate in a compatible manner consistent with the industrial park' nature of Anaheim's industrial areas." SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordi- nance and shall cause the same to be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after its final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.
