RESOLUTION NO. 2018- 0 8 9 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE FILING <br />OF REBUTTAL ARGUMENTS FOR AN INITIATIVE <br />MEASURE TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE QUALIFIED <br />ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AT THE GENERAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2018 (INITIATIVE ORDINANCE <br />TO INCREASE MINIMUM WAGE PAYABLE BY <br />HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY EMPLOYERS LOCATED IN THE <br />ANAHEIM OR DISNEYLAND RESORT SPECIFIC PLAN <br />ZONES THAT HAVE TAX REBATE AGREEMENTS WITH <br />THE CITY AND REQUIRING THAT SERVICE CHARGES <br />IMPOSED BY SUCH EMPLOYERS BE PAID ENTIRELY TO <br />EMPLOYEES) <br />WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election is to be held in the City of Anaheim, California, on <br />November 6, 2018, at which election there will be submitted to the electors of the City an initiative measure <br />in substantially the following form pursuant to the provisions of Section 1303 of the Anaheim City Charter <br />and Section 9215 of the Elections Code of the State of California: <br />MEASURE I YES <br />INITIATIVE ORDINANCE TO INCREASE <br />MINIMUM WAGE PAYABLE BY CERTAIN <br />HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY EMPLOYERS -- Shall <br />the initiative ordinance to increase the minimum wage NO <br />payable by hospitality industry employers located in the <br />Anaheim or Disneyland Resort Specific Plan Zones that <br />have tax rebate agreements with the City, and to require <br />that service charges imposed by such employers be paid <br />entirely to employees, be adopted? <br />WHEREAS, Section 1302 of the Charter of the City of Anaheim and Section 9282 of the Elections <br />Code of the State of California authorize the filing of arguments for and against the adoption of initiative <br />measures and for the City elections official to enclose a printed copy of such arguments with the sample <br />ballot provided to the electors of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council hereby desires to authorize the fling of written rebuttal arguments <br />to any argument submitted for or against the adoption of the above -referenced initiative measure. <br />// <br />
