AN ORDINA14CE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMEND-
ING TITLE 3, CHAPTER 3.04, OF THE ANAHEIM
MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING THERETO SECTION
3.04.115 RELATING TO EXEMPTION FROM BUSI-
NESS LICENSE TAX.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES FIND
THAT:
WHEREAS, the. State of California has enacted the
Highway Carriers Uniform Business License Tax Act; and
WHEREAS, the legislative intent expressed in the
Highway Carriers Uniform Business License Tax Act is to provide
exemption from city business license taxes for the intercity
transportation business of persons subject to tax under the
Highway Carriers Uniform Business License Tax Act, which remains
in effect until three years after its effective date and has no
force or effect after that date.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Title 3, Chapter 3.04 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code be, and the same is hereby, amended by adding thereto
Section 3.04.115, reading as follows:
"Section 3.04.115 - EXEMPTION - PERSONS SUBJECT TO
HIGHWAY CARRIERS UNIFORM BUSINESS
LICENSE TAX ACT.
"No business license tax, as provided for by this Chapter,
shall be required to be paid upon intercity transportation
business by any person who is subject to tax under the
Highway Carriers Uniform Business License Tax Act, com-
mencing with Section 4301 of the California Public Utilities
Code."
SECTION 2.
The exemption from business license tax authorized by
this Section shall be applicable to persons subject to tax
under the Highway Carriers Uniform Business License Tax Act
on January 1, 1971, and thereafter, only so long as said High-
way Carriers Uniform Business License Tax Act is in effect.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within
fifteen (1.5) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and cir-
culated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after its
final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.
