Tnat on the 7th day of April 1 19 70 , a a regular meeting of said City Council of the City of Anaheim, Resolution No. 70R-171 was duly passed and adopted specifically describing the ne ound ries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim and designating such territory as DQUr.T AGS-KArPRT T A ANNEXATION and giving notice of such annexation and fixing the 19th day of Ma3, , 19 7()_, at the hour of I _. l()_ o'clock P.I. at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, as tiie day, hour and place for hearing of written protests to said annexation and when and where any person owning real property witnin such territory so proposed to be annexed and 'having objections to the proposed annexation might appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and present written objections to the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim, and directing the City Clerk to publish or cause to be -1- published a copy of said resolution at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, for two successive weeks prior to the date of said hearing, in a newspaper of general circula- tion, published in the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Anaheim Bill 1Pt;n of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside of the City of Anaheim, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the territory hereinafter proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Placentia Courier and directing that said publications be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove mentioned; and further directing the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom .l.and_within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll available on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said City Clerk; and that in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a county, that the City Clerk shall cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county, and directing that such notices be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. That on the hour, day and at the place specified in said Resolution No. 70R-171 , to wit: On the 19th day of May , 19 70 , at the hour of 1:30 o'clock P.M. in the City Council Chami:jer in the City IIall in the City of Anaheim, California, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did meet and assemble to hear and pass on all protests filed or re- ceived up to the closing of the hearing on said protests. That the City Council did find that the resolution fixing the time and place of said hearing was published by the City Clerk as therein directed, and ttnat written notice of such proposed annexation was mailed by the City Clerk as directed in said resolution and as set forth above, and that written protests were not made by the owner or owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed according to the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, State of California, nor were protests made by public or private owners equal to one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by the City Council. Said findings were then duly adopted by Resolution No. 70R-242 on May 19 , 19- 70 - SECTION 2. That the annexation of the territory included within the boundaries of the DOUGLASS-KATELLA ANNEXATION, and more particu- larly described as follows, to wit: -2- Douglass - Katella Annexation To The City of Anaheim That parcel of land located in the County of Orange, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the existing City limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by the Placentia and Cerritos Annexation to the City of Anaheim passed by Ordinance 1380, September 8, 1959 and filed with the Secretary of State October 13, 1959, said point of beginning being distant from the center- line intersection of Katella Avenue (formerly Struck Avenue) and Douglass Road the following courses and distances, North 880 53' 52" West 1,469.32 feet, South 10 06' 08" West 30 feet,- thence eet,thence Leaving the said existing City limit line of the City of Anaheim North 10 06,' 08" East 30 feet to the most southerly corner of the line described in the deed to the State of Calif- ornia recorded April 20, 1967, in Book 8229, pages 953 through 955, records of Orange County California; thence Following along a portion of the line described in the last mentioned deed to the State of California the following courses and distances, North 10 06' 08" East 30 feet to a point in a curve concave southerly having a radius of 1,060.00 feet, a radial line bearing North 120 33' 42" West passes through said point; thence along said curve easterly from a tangent which bears North 770 26' 18" East through a central angle of 50 16' 19" an arc distance of 97.53 feet to a reverse curve concave northwesterly having a radius of 50 feet; thence along said reverse curve northeasterly from a tangent which bears North 820 42' 37" East through a central angle of 810 36' 29" an arc distance of 71.22 feet; thence tangent to said last mentioned curve North 1° 06' 08" East 150.79 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave easterly, and having a radius of 200 feet; thence northeasterly along last mentioned curve, through a central angle of 430 50' 44" an arc distance of 153.05 feet to an intersection with a line parallel with and distant westerly 489.66 feet from the easterly line of Lot 5, the Travis Tract, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 5, page 120 of Miscellaneous Records in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County California; thence leaving the line des- cribed in the last mentioned deed to said State of California South 010 03' 17" West 328.92 feet along the last mentioned paral- lel line to an intersection with the line described in the deed -3- Douglass - Katella Annexation To The City of Anaheim to the State of California in deed recorded September 18, 1964, in Book 7224, page 301, records of Orange County California, said point of intersection being a point in a curve concave southerly and having a radius of 1,060 feet, a radial line bearing North 10 55' 28" West passes through said point of intersection; thence Following along a portion of the line described in the last mentioned deed to the State of California, easterly along the last mentioned curve through a central angle of 30 01' 36" an arc distance of 56 feet, to an intersection with a line paral- lel with and 60 feet northerly as measured at right angles from the centerline of Katella Avenue (formerly known as Struck Avenue); thence South 880 53' 52" East 23.78 feet along said parallel line tangent to the last mentioned curve to an angle point in the line described in the last mentioned deed to the State of California; thence North 280 15' 55" East 257.38 feet; thence North 240 58' 32" East 607.25 feet to an intersection with the west line of the east 46 feet of Lot 5 of said Travis Tract as shown on a Map recorded in Book 5, page 120 of Miscel- laneous Records in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County California; thence Leaving the line described in the last mentioned deed to the State of California North 10 03' 17" East 237.38 feet along a portion of the west line of the east 46 feet of said Lot 5 of the Travis Tract to an intersection with the northerly line of Lot 5 of said Travis Tract, said point of intersection being a point in the north line of the land described in Parcel One in the Final Order of Condemnation to the State of California re- corded November 2, 1964, in Book 7285, pages 833 through 839, records of Orange County California; thence Following along that portion of the north line of said Parcel One South 880 52' 43" East 437 feet, more or less, being the north line of the east 46 feet of said Lot 5 and a portion of the north line of Lot 4 of the said Travis Tract to an inter- section with the line described as the exception to Parcels A and B in the Final Order of Condemnation by the State of Calif- ornia recorded November 2, 1964 in Book 7285, pages 833 through 839, records of Orange County California; thence Following along a portion of the last mentioned line des- cribed in the last mentioned Final Order of Condemnation the -4- Douglass - Katella Annexation To The City of Anaheim following courses and distances, South 190 20' 30" West 274 feet, more or less, South 140 15' 43" West 124.10 feet to an intersection with .the northerly line of the land described in the Final Order of Condemnation to the County of Orange recorded August 30, 1965, in Book 7648, pages 943 through 945, records of Orange County California; thence South 880 53' 52" East 507.13 feet along the northerly line of the land described in the last mentioned Final Order of Condemnation to an intersection with a line parallel with and 20 feet westerly of the centerline of Douglass Road, as the centerline of said Douglass Road is described in the deed to the County of Orange recorded October 7, 1926, in Book 682, page 109, records of Orange County California; thence Following along the westerly line of said Douglass Road, the centerline of which is described in the last mentioned deed the following courses and distances North 00 33' 45" East 375 feet, more or less, North 880 52' 43" West 31 feet, North 00 33' 45" East 1,120 feet, more or less, to an intersection with the southerly right of way line of Southern Pacific Railroad, the southerly right of way line of the said Southern Pacific Railroad also being the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of the land described in the deed recorded October 13, 1943 in Book 1214, page 244 of deeds, records of Orange County California; thence Northeasterly and easterly along the said westerly pro- longation and the northerly line of the land described in the last mentioned deed, also being the southerly right of way line of said Southern Pacific Railroad, a distance of 1,728 feet, more or less, to an intersection with the west line of the Olive - West Orange Protection District of Orange County California, as said west line is described in the deed recorded November 25, 1927, in Book 110, page 462 of deeds, records of Orange County California; thence Following along a portion of the westerly line of said Olive -West Orange Protection District of Orange County South 210 57' 27" West 2,458.24 feet, more or less, to an intersection with a line parallel with and 60 feet southerly of the center- line of Katella Avenue (formerly known as Struck Avenue); thence North 880 53' 52" West 390 feet, more or less, along the last mentioned parallel line to an intersection with the northerly -5- Douglass - Katella Annexation To The City of Anaheim line of the 64 foot parcel described in the deed to Orange County Flood Control District recorded February 6, 1939 in Book 984, page 15, records of Orange County California, said point of intersection being a point in a curve concave north- westerly and having a radius of 430 feet, a radial line bearing South 650 48' 00" East passes through said point; thence Following along a portion of the last mentioned northerly line along said curve through a central angle of 21° 49' 07" an arc distance of 163.75 feet, more or less, to a line tangent to said curve; thence South 460 01' 07" West 420 feet, more or less, tangent to the last mentioned curve to an intersection with the easterly line of Douglass Road, (formerly known as Collins Avenue) being a point in a line parallel with and 30 feet easterly of the centerline of said Douglass Road; thence North 60 28' 38" East 115 feet, more or less, along a por- tion of the easterly line of the last mentioned Douglass Road to an intersection with the easterly line of Lot 7 of the Travis Tract as shown on a Map recorded in Book 5, page 120 of Miscel- laneous Records, records of Los Angeles County, California, said point of intersection being a point in the existing City limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by the afore- mentioned Placentia and Cerritos Annexation to the City of Anaheim; thence Following along the existing City limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by the said Placentia and Cerritos Annexation to the City of Anaheim the following courses and distances, North 260 55' 10" East 370 feet, more or less, along a portion of the east line of Lot 7 of said Travis Tract to an intersection with a line parallel with and 30 feet southerly of the centerline of Katella Avenue (formerly known as Struck Avenue); thence North 880 53' 52" West 1,634 feet, more or less, along the last mentioned parallel line to the point of beginning. is hereby approved and said territory is hereby annexed to and incorporated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, and is hereby designated as the DOUGLASS-KATELLA ANNEXATION to the City of Anaheim. SECTION 3. That from and after the effective date of this ordinance and the filing of a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of State of the State of California, the annexation of the territory herein described shall be deemed to be and shall be complete and thenceforth such annexed territory shall be, to all intents and purposes, a part of the City of Anaheim, and from and after the effective date of such annexation, all property therein shall be subject to taxation equally with the property within the City of Anaheim and shall be taxed to pay its proportionate share of the existing indebtedness and liability of said City of Anaheim contracted prior to or exist- ing at the time of such annexation pursuant to the written con- sent of the owners of property in said annexed territory filed with the Clerk of the City of Anaheim prior to the adoption of this ordinance. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the Anah _ ' m Ru i i Pt-; n , a newspaper of general circu- lation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, and thirty (30) days from and after its final passage it shall be in full force and effect.
