5731ORDINANCE NO. 5731
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING CHAPTER 14.57 OF THE ANAHEIM
MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO THE
DIRECTING OF TRAFFIC
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Chapter 14.57 of Title 14 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code be, and the same is hereby, amended in its entirety to
provide as follows:
"14.57.010 DIRECTING TRAFFIC PROHIBITED
No person shall direct, or attempt to direct,
traffic by voice, hand, or other signal or
operate any traffic signal or device upon
a public street or public parking lot or
facility owned or operated by the City of
Anaheim.
14.57.020 EXEMPTIONS
Section 14.57.010 shall not apply to the following:
(a) a public safety officer in the performance of
that officer's duties;
(b) a Traffic Control Officer in the performance of
that officer's duties;
(c) an employee of an party contracting directly with
the City of Anaheim to provide such services;
(d) a person acting at the direction of a public
safety officer; or
(e) a person responding to an emergency or traffic
accident until the arrival of public safety
personnel."
SECTION 2. SAVINGS CLAUSE
Neither the adoption of this ordinance or the repeal of
any other ordinance shall in any manner affect the prosecution
for violations of ordinances, which violations were committed

prior to the effective date of this ordinance, nor be construed a
waiver of any license or penalty or the penal provisions
applicable to any violation thereof. The provisions of this
ordinance, insofar as the provisions are substantially the same
as the ordinance previously adopted by the City relating to the
same subject matter, shall be construed as restatements and
continuations and not as new enactments.
SECTION 3. CERTIFICATION
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption in a newspaper of general
circulation, published and circulated in said City, and thirty
(30) days from and after adoption, it shall take effect and be in
full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim thisl3th day of June 12000.
