That Section 27C of said Or- dinance No. 237 as the same was added there- to by Ordinance No. 265 of the City of Ana- heim, entitled, An Ordinance amending Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 of Ordinance No. 237 of the City of Anaheim, entitled, An Ordinance providing for the appointment of a Plumbing Inspector for the City of Ana- heim, defining his duties and fixing his com- pensation, regulating the construction and inspection of plumbing and housedrainage within said city and providing for the issu- ing of permits therefor,' passed and adopted on the 28th day, of December, 1911, and add- ing three new sections thereto," passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim on the 11th day of September, 1913, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 27C. All work of installing gas pipe or gas fittings in all buildings in the City of Anaheim shall conform to the fol- lowing specifications: (a) The size of gas pipe used must vary with the number of burners supplied thereby in conformity to the following table, to -wit: Size of Pipe. (b) Each boiler, heater or other permanent heater shall have a three-inch vent which shall be constructed in such manner as to effectively carry off all fumes and odors from such heater, such vent may be connected with a chimney flue or through the wood- work of such house or structure, provided that such woodwork shall be protected with a galvanized ferrule of the thickness of the wood through which said vent passes and shall have an air space of one inch between said vent and ferrule on all sides thereof. (c)All gas piping shall be well secured wit i galvanized straps or iron hooks and shaa111 be tested to ten pounds air pressure to the square inch and in stopping leaks, no gas fitter's cement or other inferior material shall be used. (d) All gas fitting shall be so constructed that the gas meter shall beplaced on the outside of the building, or under such build- ing, if the space thereunder is ventilated. (e) No gas shall be turned into any gas pipe in any building in said City of Ana- heim, until the final certificate of inspection has been issued by the Plumbing Inspector. (f) All pipe under any house or building shall be effectively drained to the meter or by means of a drip placed at the lowest point on the pine of any such building." Section 3. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance, are hereby revealed. Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to, be pub- lished once in The Orange County Plain Dealer,a weekly newspaper of a general character printed, published and circulated in the said City of Anaheim and 3o days from and after its final passage it shall take effect and be.in full force. Notwithstanding the provisions herein contained, no inspection shall be required nor permit deemed necessary in the case of re', pairing and extension of plumbing and gas fitting, in the followi case; The stoppage of leaks in drain, soil waste; service, gas, or vent pipes; provided however that should any trap, drain, soil,wnate or vent pipe, be, or become defective and it becomes necessary to re- move or replace the same with new material in any part or parts, I the same shall be considered as new work and a permit shall be pro- cured and inspection made as herein required, provided further tha4 no inspection nor permit shall be required for then work of making 2. 1 or installing any addition to, extension or repair of any gas -pipe 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 it 12 13 14 1`5 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 Dr fitting or any alteration or extension of, or addition to any such gas pipe or fitting, which may be necessary for the removal or repair of any gas stove, heater, plate or other fixture or outlet, provided that in making any such repair of, or extension or additio ll to any such gas pipe or i6itting or rendered necessary in the remov- al or repair of any such gas -stove, heater, plate of other fixture or outlet not more than fifteen feet of new or additional PIPP shal be used, otherwise the work shall be subject to the provisions for and inspection,4the issuance of a permit as herein provided; except that no inspection or permit shall be required for laying or installing any service pipe. Section 2. That Section 27C of said Ordinance No. 237 as the s was added thereto by Ordinance No. 265 of the City of Anaheim, anti led,'Aa Ordinance ame$ding Sections, 2, 3, 4,,5, and 7 of Ordinance No. 237 of the City of Anaheim, entitled, An Ordinance providing for the appointment of a plumbing inspector for the City of Anahei defining his duties and fixing his compensation, regulating the co struction and inspection of plumbing and housedrainage within said city and providing for the issuing of permits therefor,' passed an adopted on the 28th day of December, 1911 and adding three new sec tions thereto," passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim on the 11 day of September, 1913, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 270. All work of installing gas pipe or gas fittings in all buildings in the City of Anaheim shall conform to the fol- lowing specifications: (a) The size of gas pipe used must vary with the number of burners supplied thereby in conformity to the following table;towi Size of ripe. (b) Each boiler, heater or other permanent heater shall have a three-inch vent which shall be constructed in such manner as to ef- fectively carry off all fumes and odors from such heater, such vent may be connected with a chimney flue or through the woodwork of sue house or structure, provided that such woodwork shall be protected with a galvanized ferrule of the thickness of the wood through whic said vent passes and shall have an air space of one inch between said vent and ferrule on all sides thereof. (c) All gas piping shall be well secured with galvanized straps or iron hooks and `shall be tested to ten pounds air pressure to the square inch and in stopping leaks, no gas fitter's cement or other inferior material shall be used. (d) All gas fitting shall be so constructed that the gas meter shall be placed on the outside of the building, or under such build, ing, if the space thereunder is ventilated. (e) No gas shall be turned into any gas pipe in any building in said City of Anaheim, until the final certificate of inspection has been -,issued by the J'lukabing Inspector. (f) All pipe under any house or building shall be effectively drained to the meter or by means of a drip placed at the lowest point on the pipe of any such building." Section 3. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance, are hereby repealed. Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be publishe once in the Orange County Plain Dealer, a weekly newspaper of a . general character printed, published and circulated in the said Ci a i' 1 of Anaheim and 30 days from and after its final passage it shall 2 �take effect and be in full force. 3 The foregoing Ordinance is signed, approved and attested by rye 4 ihis day of November, A.
