THREE SECTIONS THERETO.
The Beard of Trustees of the City
Anaheim do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 237 o
the City of Anaheim, entitled "An ordi
nance providing for the appointment of
plumbing inspector for the City of Ana
helm, defining his duties and fixing hi
compensation, regulating the constructio
and inspection of plumbing and hous
drainage within said city, and providin
for the issuing of permits therefor," pass-
ed and adopted on the 28th day of De-
cember, 1911, is hereby amended by add
ing a new section thereto to be know
and numbered as Section 4A, which said
section shall read as follows:
"Section 4A. Any person, or persons,
firm or corporation desiring to make on
or more connections to the public sewer
of the City of Anaheim, either for him-
self or themselves, or as contractor, agent
or employee for some other person or per-
sons, firm or corporation, shall before
procuring a permit from the Plumbing In-
spector to make such connections deposit
with the City Clerk of the City of Ana-
heim the sum of fifty ($50.00) dollars, for
the purpose of indemnifying the said City
of Anaheim against any and all damages
that such person or persons, firm or cor-
poration may cause to be .done or inflfctee
to the public sewer of the said City of
Anaheim, or to any other property owned
or controlled by the City of Anaheim, in
making or attempting to make such con-
nections, or in doing anything pertaining
thereto.
"Should any damage be done to thf

to any other property of said city by ani
person or persons, firm, or corporation
making or attempting to make a con.
nection with the public sewer of said
city, the amount of such damage shall be
deducted from the said sum of fifty
($50.00) dollars, and thereupon the person
or persons,' firm or corporation who
caused such damage to be done to such
public sewer or other property of said
city shall upon being notified by the City
Clerk of the City of Anaheim by written
notice deposit with said Clerk.an amount
Of money equal to the sum deducted for
the payment of such damage, and in the
event that such person or persons, firm
or corporation shall fail, neglect or re-
fuse to deposit such sum with the City
Clerk of said City no permit shall there-
after be issued for the making of any con-
nection to such public sewer by any such
person or persons, firm or corporation,
until such sum shall have been deposited
with the City Clerk of said City of Ana-
heim as herein provided, and any such
Person or persons, firm or corporation
who shall make or attempt to make any
connection with such public sewer with-
out having made such deposit shall be
deemed guilty of a violation of this ordi-
nance."
Section 2. That Ordinance No. 237 of
the City of Anaheim, entitled "An ordi-
nance providing for the appointment of a
Plumbing Inspector for the City of Ana-
heim, defining his duties and fixing ME

thereto to be known and designated a:

Section 5. That for the reasons herein-
after set forth the public health and safe-
ty of the City of Anaheim require the im-
mediate passage of this ordinance and
that the same shall be in full force and
effect immediately after the passage
thereof.
That the facts constituting the urgency
for the immediate passage of this ordi-
nance are as follows, to -wit: That the
public sewer of the City of Anaheim is
completed and is ready for the public use,
and that persons residing and owning
Property within said city may have the
Privilege of connecting with said public
sewer in accordance with the provisions
of Ordinance No. 237 and the amendments
thereto, and that no provisions other than
those herein contained exist for the pro-
tection of the said Cityof Anaheim
against damages which may be done to
the said public sewer of the City of Ana-
heim or other property belonging thereto
by persons, desiring to make connections
with such sewer.
Section 6. The City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and cause the same to
be published once in the "Anaheim Ga-
zette," a weekly newspaper of a general.
character, printed, published and circulat-
ed in the said City of Anaheim, and there-
from and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and efPoct.

Section 4.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the
proviaions of this ordinance are hereby. repealed.
Section 5.
That for the reasons hereinafter setforth the public health
and safety of tI,,e City of Anaheimrequire the immediate passage
of this ordinance and that the same shall be in full force and
effect iiwiediately after the passage thereof.

of the City of Anaheim is completed and is ready for the public
