ORDINANCE NO. 314 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AN- AHEIM, DEFINING AND REGULAT- ING PUBLIC SHOOTING GALLER- IES WITHIN SAID CITY, AND PRO- VIDING FOR THE PUNISHMENT OF VIOLATIONS THEREOF. THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CIT)C OF ANAHEIM DO ORDAIN AS 1,'OLLOWS: SECTION 1. The words "public shoot- ing gallery".as the same are used in this ordinance, are defined to mean any place where the public is invited or permitted to practice or engage in contests of marksmanship by means of firearms, for hire. SECTION 2. Every room or building within which a public shooting gallery shall be conducted, shall be equipped with and have constructed therein, a counter, rail or other barrier, which shall be con- strucLeu across the entire width of such room or building, and parallei with the line of the street upon which said room or building fronts, and which saia count- er, rail or other barrier shall be con - strutted and maintained at a distance of not less than twelve (12) feet from the front of the building in which such shoot- ing gallery is condubted. SECTI6N 3. It shall be unlawful for any owner, proprietor, manager or oth- er person in charge of any public shoot- ing gallery within the City of Anaheim, to suffer or permit any female to be or remain in that portion of the room or building used or Occupied by such shoot- ing gallery, which is back of, or in the rear of such counter, rail or other bar- rier, or for any such owner, proprietor, manager or other person in charge of any such public shooting gallery, to em- ploy or suffer or permit the employment of any female in or about the room or building within which such public shoot- ing gallery is conducted or carried on. SECTION 4. It shall be unlawful for the owner, manager, proprietor or other person having targe of any such public shooting gallery within the City of An- aheim, to keep the same open or to suf- fer or permit the same to be kept open, or to suffer or permit any target shoot- ing by means of firearms therein, be- tween the hours of twelve o'clock mid- night of any Saturday and 8 o'clock A. U. of - the next succeeding Monday, or be- tween the hours of 10:45 P. M. of any other day than Saturday, and 8 o'clock A. M. of the next succeeding day. SECTION 5. Any, person who shall vi- olafe any of the provisions of this or- dinance, shall be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not ex- ceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00) or by imprisonment in the City Jail in said city, of not exceeding fifty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 6. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the pro- visions of this ordinance, are hereby re- pealed. SECTION 7. The City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall certify to the pas- sage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the Ana- heim Gazette, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, and thirty days from and after its final passage, it shall take effect and be in lull force.
