WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim did on the 26th day of July, 1917, by a vote of More than two-thirds of the members of said Board, adopt a resolution determining that the Public interest and necessity demanded the construction of a building for mu- nieipal uses, to -wit: A City Hall for said City, together with the acquisition of land for the construction thereon of said city hall, the cost of which was estimat- ed at One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) which cost will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said municipality, wnfen resolution was on the 26th day of July, 1917, duly approved by the Presi- dent of the Board or Trustees of the City of Anaheim, who is the executive of said municipality. NOW THEREFORE the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim do or- dain as follows: SECTION 1. A special election is here- by called and ordered to be held in the City of Anaheim, State of California, on 'Tuesday, the 2nd day of October, 1917, the object being to submit to the qualified electors of said city, a proposition to in- cur a bonded indebtedness by the City of Anaheim to the amount of One hund- red thousand dollars ($100,000.00) for the purpose of the construction of a build- ing for municipal uses, to -wit, a City Hall for said city, together with the ac- quisition of land for the construction thereon of said city hall, the estimated cost of which is One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), said sum being the amount of the principal of the indebted- ness to be incurred therefor; the rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness will be not to exceed six per centum- (6cjr.) per annum payable semi-annual- ly; the principal and interest of said in- debtedness to be paid in gold coin of the United States of America. SECTION 2. The special election here- by called and ordered to be held, shall be held and conducted and the votes there- at received and canvassed, and the re- turns thereof made and the results there- of ascertained, determined and declared as herein provided and according to the laws of the State -of California, provid- ing for and governing elections in the City of Anaheim, and the polls for such election shall be and remain open duf•- ing the time required by said laws. The ballots to be used at such special election shall be such as may be requir- ed by law to be used thereat and in ad- dition to any other matter required by law to be printed thereon, shall appear the 'following: "MUNICIPAL TICKET" "To vote for a proposition and there- by authorize the incurring of the bonded indebtedness for the amount of and for the purpose stated in such proposition, stamp a cross (X) in the voting square to the right of the word "YES." "To vote against a proposition and thereby refuse to authorize the incurring of the bonded indebtedness for the amount of and for the purpose stated in such proposition, stamp a cross (X) in the voting square to the right of the word "NO." The polling place In and for "Special E lection Precinct No. 3 ' shall be at the Central Grammar School, being situated in that certain block bounded on toe North by East Cypress Street, on the, East by North Philadelphia Street, oil the South side by East Chartres Street and on the West side by Emily- Street in said city. The polling place in and for "Special Election Precinct No. 4" shall be at the City Hall at No. 202 East Center Street' in said city. The City- Clerk is hereby- directed to" procure all supplies that may be neces- sary to properly, and lawfully conduct, said special election. When the polls are closed the officers of election shall count the ballots cast at such special election and canvass the' votes cast respectivefy for and against said proposition herein stated and make return thereof to the Board of Trustee; of the City of Anaheim, in time, form and manner required for the counting.; canvassing and returning of votes cast at other municipal elections held in said. City of Anaheim. SECTION 5. If, at such special elec- tion it shall appear that two-thirds of all the votes cast thereat were in favor of and authorized the incurring of a bonded debt for the purpose set forth in the proposition herein stated, then such proposition shall be deemed to have been accepted by the electors and bonds will be issued to defray the cost of the im- provement specified in such proposition and to the amount stated therein. Such ' bonds shall be of the form and character known as "Serials" and at least one - fortieth part of the principal sum of such indebtedness will be paid each and every year until all of said bonds shall have been paid, principal and interest shall be paid in gold coin of the United States of America. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be published on -^e each week for two suc- cessive weeks prior to said day of elec- tion in "The Anaheim Gazette" which is a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published less than six days a week in said City- of Anaheim, and this Ordinance and such publication shall be the Notice of Election. SECTION 7. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately I. Edward B. Merritt, City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, do hareby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of said city held on the 9th day of August. 1917, and was finally passed by more than a two-thirds vote of said Board of Trustees at a regular meeting of said Board of Trustees held on the 23rd day of August, 1917, and that the vote on the passage of said Ordinance. was as follows: Ayes, Trustees Cook, Stark, Brun - worth and Dwyer. WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim did on the 26th day of July, 1917, by a vote of more than two-thirds of the members of said Board, adopt a resolution determining that the public interest and necessity demanded the -construction of a building for municipal uses, to -wit: A City Hall for said City, together with the acquisition of land for the construction there- on of said city hall, the cost of which was estimated at One hun- dred thousand dollars (100,000.00) which cost will be too great to be paid paftout of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said municipality, which resolution was on the 26th day of July, 1917, duly approved by the President of the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim, who is the executive of said municipality. NOW THEREFORE the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. A special election is hereby called and ordered to be held in the City of Anaheim, State of California., on %uasrJ�ry the z" -d day of 0cfob-.- 1917 , the object being to submit to the qualified electoxsof said city, a proposition to insn.r a bondad indebtedness by the City of Anaheim to.the amount of One hundred thousand dollars (100,000.00) for the purpose of the construe- tion of a building for municipal uses, to -wit, a City Hall for said city, together with the acquisition of land for the construe tion thereon of said city hall, the estimated cost of which is I One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), said sum being the amount of the principal of the indebtedness to be incurred there- - 1 - 1 for; the rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness will be 2 ;' not to exceed six per centum (6jo) per annum payable semi-annually; 3 i the principal and interest of said indebtedness to be paid in gold 4 coin of the United States of America. 5 I! When the polls are closed the officers of election shall count the ballots cast at such special election and can%rass the votes cast respectively for and against said proposition herein stated and make return thereof to the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim, in time, form and manner required for the count- ing, canvassing and returning of votes cast at other municipal elections held in said city of Anaheim. SECTION 5. If, a -t -such special election it shall appear that two-thirds of all of the votes cast thereat were in favor of and authorized the incurring of a bonded debt for the purpose set forth in the proposition herein stated, then such proposi- tion shall be deemed to have been accepted by the electors and i bonds will be issued to defray the cost of the improvement speci- fied in such proposition and to the amount stated therein. Such bands shall be of the form and character known as "Serials" and at least one -fortieth part of the principal sum of such indebted- ness will be paid each and every year until all of said bonds shall have been paid, principal and interest shall be paid in gold coin of the United States of America. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be published once each wee] I for two successive weeks prior to said day of election in "The Anaheim Gazette" which is a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published less than six days a week in said City of Anaheim, and this Ordinance and such publication shall be the Notice of Election. SECTION 7. This Ordinance shall take effect 'immediately. I, Edward B.
