The Board of Trustees of the City of
Anaheim do ordain as follows:
i SECTION 1. That section two of Or-
dinance No. 161 of the City of`Anatheim,
entitled "An Ordinance fixing the com-
pensation of certain officers of the ty
of Anaheim," passed and adopted onCihe
twenty-ninth day of March, 1904, as the
same was amended by Ordinance No.

and the same is hereby amended to read

SECTION 2. The compensation of the.

Collector is hereby fixed at One Hundred
Dollars, per month, payable monthly, at
the same time and out of the same fund
that the salaries of other officers of said
city are paid; such compensation shall
t be in full for all. service now or which
may hereafter be required of him by law
or by" any Ordinance -of said city or Res-
olution of the Board of Trusteesof said
city, now fn effect or which may here-
after -be enacted or adopted. Nothing in
this ordinance, however, shall be con-

mangling and receiving such compensa-
tion as may. be allowed by law for ser-
vice ofprocess in civil actions.

THE TWENTY-SECOND DAY OF
JUNE, 1916.
The Board of Trustees of the City of
Anaheim do ordain as follows:
SECTION1. That section two of Or-
dinance No. 161 of the City of Anaheim,
entitled "An Ordinance fixing the com-
pensalion of certain officers of the City
of Anaheim," passed and adopted on the
twenty-ninth day of March, 1904, as the
same was amended by Ordinance No.
304 of saidcity, passed and adopted on
the twenty-second day of June, 1916, be
and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
SECTION 2. The compensation of the
Marshal and ex -officio Tax and License
Collector is hereby fixed at One Hunured
Dollars, per month, payable monthly, at
the same time and out of the same fund
that the salaries of other officers of said
city are paid; such compensation shall
be in full for all service now or which
may hereafter be required of him by law
or by any Ordinance of said city or Res-
olution of the Board of Trustees of said
city, now in effect or which may here-
after be enacted or adopted. Nothing in
this ordinance, however, shall be con-
e:rued to prohibit the Marshal from de-

uty marshals, subject to the ratification
and approval of the Board of Trustees

SECTION 2: The Board of Trustees
hereby declares that the public safety
requires the immediate passage and tak-
ing effect hereof and that this ordinance
is an emergency ordinance, and shall
take effect immediately after its pass-
age.
That the facts constituting the emerg-
ency for the immediate passage and tak-
ing effect of this ordinance are as fol-
lows;
That said Ordinance No. 161 as the
same was amended by Ordinance No. 304,
fixes the compensation of Deputy Mar-
shal and Policemen as follows: One Dep-
uty Marshal and Policeman at Thirty
Dollars per month, and Two Deputy Mar-
shals and Policemen at Seventy-five Dol-
lars each month, and whereas the public
safety demands the services of Three
Deputy Marshals and Policemen, and
whereas a competent and efficient Dep-
, uty Marshal and Policeman cannot be
employed at the rate of Thirty Dollars
per month.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts
of ordinances in conflict with the provis-
ions of this ordinance are hereby re-
pealed.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall cer-
tify to the p assage of this ordinance and
cause the same to be published once in
the Anaheim Gazette, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published
and circulated in said city.
