TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY ON THE
27th DAY OF MARCH, 1913, AND AD-
DING A NEW SECTION THERETO.
The Board , of Trustees of the City of
Anaheim do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section z of Ordin-
ance No. 261 of the City of Anaheim, en-
titled "An ordinance fixing the time and
Place far the payment of rates for elec-
tric lights, electric energy and water
furnished by the City of Anaheim, cre-
ating the office of Rate Collector, de-
fining his duties, prescribing his quali-
fications and fixing nls copensation,"
passed and adopted on thelm7th day of
March, 1913, be and the same is amend-
ed to read as follows:
"SECTION 5. As compensation for
his services the Rate Collector shall re-
ceive the sum of One Hundred Dollars
per month, payable monthly at the salve
time and out of the same fund as the
salaries d'f other officers of said city
are paid."
SECTION 2. That Section Eight of
said Ordinance No. 261, is hereby amena-
ed to read as follows:
"SECTION 8. If any sum or sums of
money for electric lights or electric en-
ergy furnished by the City of Anaheim,
for any one month shall remain unpaid
at midnight of the sixth day of the month
next succeeding that duping which such
electric light or electric energy was so
furnished, the Rate Collector shall on the
next succeeding day deliver to the Sup-
erintendent of the Municipal Light and
Power Plant of said City, a written no-
tice containing the names of the per-
sons owing said City for such electric
light or electric power and the location
of the premises where the same were
so furnished or delivered together with
a statement that such persons are de-
linquent in the payment of the several
amounts due for such electric light or
electric energy and the said Superintend-
ent of the Electric Light and Power plant
shall forthwith cause such electric light or
electric energy to be cut off and disconnec-
ed from the building or premises where the
same was so furnished or delivered and
no electric light or electric energy shall
be thereafter furnished or delivered up-
on such premises until all moheys due
and owing for such electric lights and
energy and all penalties hereinbefore pre-
scribed together with an additional pen-
alty of $2.50 shall have been paid to said
Rate Collector, and upon the payment
of all sums of moneys due said City for
Such electric light or electric energy and
C11 penalties herein prescribed, the said
ate Collector shall forthwith notify the
Superintendent of the Municipal Light
and Power plant of said City, in writing
and he shall forthwith connect said
building or premises with the electric
light or electric power lines of said City
in such manner that such service may
be resumed. Within five days after the
delivery of the notice to the said Sup-
erintendent of the Municipal Light, and
Power Pla , as herein provided, he
shall deliv r to the Rate Collector a
written report that he has cut off and
discontinued' the premises described' or
referred to in said notice from electric
service as provided in this ordinance."
SECTION 3. That Section 9 of said
Ordinance No. 261, be and the same is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 9. If any sum or sums of
money for water furnished by the City
of Anaheim, shall remain unpaid at mid-
night of the sixth day of the third month
next succeeding that during which such
water was so furnished, the Rate Col-
lector shall on the next succeeding day
deliver to the Superintendent of the Mu-
nicipal Light and Power Plant of said
eity, a written notice similar in form
and substance to the notice provided for
in Section 8 5f this Ordinance except that
the notice herein provided for shall re-
fer to delinquencies in payment of wa-
ter, instead of delinquencies in payment
of light and power, and the Superintend-
ent of the :Municipal light and water
Plant of said City shall forthwith cause
all water connections with thQ water
mains of said City to be cut off and dis-
connected from the building or premises,
where such water had been so furnisht�a
a.na delivered and no water shall be
thereafter furnished or delivered upon
sueh premises until all moneys due and
owing for such water and all penalties
hereinbefore prescribed, together with
an additional penalty of $1.00 shall have
been paid to the Rate Collector and up -
op the payment of all such moneys clue
said City for such water, and all penal-
ties hereinbefor prescribed, the Rate
Collector shall forthwith notify the Sup-
erintendent of the Municipal Light and
Power plant in writing, and he shall
forthwith connect with the building or
Premises with the Jater distribution sys-
tem of such City In such manner that
such service may be resumed. Within
five days after the delivery of the no-
tice to the Superintendent of the Munic-
ipai Light and Power plant, as in this
Section proviaed, he shall deliver to the

SECTION 4. That Section 10 of said
Ordinance No. 261 be and the same is
hereby- amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 10. For the purpose of en-
forcing Sections Eight and Nine of ties
Ordinance the Superintendent of the
Electric Light and Bower plant of said
City is hereby authorized to enter upon
private property for the purpose of dis-
connecting any ,ouch property from the
electrical distribution system or the wa-
ter distributing system of said City,
whenever such delinquency has occur-
red."
SECTION 5. That a new section I --
hereby added to said Ordinance No. 261,
to be numbered and designated as Sec-
tion 10a; which said Section 10a, shall
read as follows:
"SECTION 10a. Nothing in this Ordin-
ance shall be construda as precluding the
City of Anaheim from prosecuting an
action in any court of competent jurisl-
diction, for the collection of any mone3 s
due the City of Anaheim for the fur-
nishing, sale or delivery of electric light,
electric energy or water."
SECTION 6. All Ordinances and parte
of Ordinances in conflict with the pro-
visions of this ordinance are hereby re-
pealed.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall cer-
tify to the passage of this ordinance and
cause the same to be published once in
the Anaheim Gazette, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, printed and
published in said City, and thirty days
after its final passage it shall take ef-
fe(* and be in full force.
