State of California; that said Anaheim Gazette is and was at all times herein
mentioned, a newspaper of general circulation and is published for the dis-
semination of local and telegraphic news and intelligence of a general char-

ORDINANCE NO. 351.
An ordinance of the City of Anaheim,
granting unto A. B. Watson, a permit to
j operate his busses in the City of Anaheim,
for the carriage of passengers anQ ex-
press packages for hire upon the follow-
ing streets and highways, in said city,
to -wit:
Commencing on West Centel- Street,
,in said city where said street is
intersected by the westerly boundary
line of said city, thence easterly on
said West Center Street to No. 131
on said West Center Street; thence west-
erly, on said West Center Street to its
intersection with North Lemon Street
and South Lemon Street; thence norther -
Iv on North Lemon Street to the north-
erly boundary line of said city.
WHEREAS A. B. vVatson, of Santa
Ana. California, has heretofore filed witb
the City of Anaheim and with the Board
of Trustees of said city, his certain vera-,
fled petition or application for a permit
from the City of Anaheim granting to
said A. B. Watson, the right to operate
his line of automobile stages for the car-
riage,of passengers and express packages
for hire, through the corporate limits of
said City of Anaheim, over the route
within the corporate limits of said City p
of Anaheim which is hereinafter set
forth, and
WHEREAS by resolution of the Board
of Trustees of the City of Anaheim duly
adopted, on the 10th day of April, 1919,
the date of hearing upon said application
of said A. B. Watson for such permit was
set for Thursday, the 24th day of April,
1919, at the hour of eight o'clock - p. in.,
and
WHEREAS, due and satisfactory proof
of the publication of legal notice of such
hearing has been filed with this Board
of Trustees, and on the date last mention-
ed a full hearing having been had before
this Board of Trustees in the matter of
the said application, and
WHEREAS it appears that the best in-
terests of the City of Anaheim and of the
citizens thereof will be subserved by the
granting of said permit, to operate said
stages over the route hereinafter descrtb
ed,'and that no interest of said city or of
the citizens thereof will be adversely
affected by the granting thereof, and that
the, City of Anaheim has the authority so
to do under the Laws of the State of Cal-
ifornia.
Now, therefore, the Board of Trustees
of the City of Anaheim, do Ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. That the City of Anaheim
and the Board of Trustees, do, subject to
the provisions herein contained, hereby
give and grant to said A. B. Watson of
Santa Ana, California, from the date - of
the taking effect of this ordinance and
for the period of five years thereafter, a
permit to operate his busses, for the car-
riage of passengers and express packages
for hire through the City of Anaheim, and
over and along the route and between
the termini hereinafter specified. That
the route over which the permit to oper-
ate said stages, within the City of Ana-
heim is hereby granted, is over and along
the following streets in said city, to -wit:
Commencing on West Center Street, in
said city, where said street is intersected
by the westerly nounaary nne ui ..—
city; thence easterly on said West Cen-
ter Street to No. 131 on said West Cen-
ter Street; thence westerly on said West
Center Street to its intersection with
North Lemon Street and South Lemon
Street; thence northerly on North Lemon 1
Street • to the northerly boundary line of
said city.
SECTION 2. This permit is granted
for, the operation of two fourteen
passenger stages and only for the car-
riage of passengers and express packages
for hire, provided that the maximum
.quantity of eNpress packages to be trans-
ported at any one time, in any one stage
is hereby limited to two hundred pounds.
SECTION 3. This permit is granted
subject to all ordinances of the City of
Anaheim now in effect, or which may
hereafter be enacted, governing ins oper-
ation or licensing of motor -vehicles o.
stage lines within said city.
SECTION4. Neither the permit and
privilege herein granted, nor any right
accruing therefrom shall be assignable
by said grantee, without the consent of
the Board of Trustees of the City of Ana -
helm.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim shall certify to the pass-
age of this ordinance and cause the same
to be published once in the Anaheim Ga-
zette, a weekly newspaper published in
the City of Anaheim, County of Orange,
State of California, and thirty days after
its passage it shall take effect and be In
full force.
The foregoing ordinance is signed, ap-
proved and attested by me this 22nd day
of May, A. D. 1919.
