acter, having a bona fide subscription list of paying subscribers; that at all
said times said newspaper had been established, printed and published in the
said City of Anaheim, in said County and State at regular intervals for more

1 OF ANAHEIM, ENTITLED: "AN
ORDINANCE FIXING THE COM.
PENSATION OF THE MARSHAL
AND DEPUTY 'MARSHALS OF
THE CITY OF A'NA'HEIM;'
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ON
THE 12TH DAY OF DECEMBER,
1918.
The Board of Trustees of the City
of Anaheim do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Or-
dinance No. 340 of the City of Ana•
heim, entitled: "An Ordinance fix -
Ing the compensation of the marshal
and deputy marshals of the City oat
Anaheim," passed and adopted by saia
Board of Trustees of the City of Ana•
helm, on the 12th day of December,
1918, be, and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 2. The marshal shall
appoint, subject to the approval of the
Board of Trustees of the City of Ana -
helm, five deputy marshals, which ob
flees are hereby created.. The compen.
sation of such deputy marshals shall
be One hundred and twenty4ive dol,
lars ($125.00) per month each, for all
services to be hereafter rendered by
them, which compensation shall b(*
payable monthly out of the general
fund in the treasury of said city, and
In addition thereto, the marshal may,
at any time, and subject to the ap•
proval of the Board of Trustees of
said City, appoint not to exceed five
deputy marshals, which offices are
hereby created, and who shall be un-
der the direction and control of the
marshal of said city, and who shall
serve without receiving any com•
_pensation from said city."
,SECTION 2. All ordinances anti
parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk of the
.City of Anaheim shall certify to the
passage of this ordinance, and cause i
the same to be published once in the
Anaheim,Gazette, a newspaper of gen. '
eral circulation, printed, published,
and circulated in said city, and thirty
(30) days from and after its final pass.
