SECTION 1. That the 'Roard of Trustees of the City of
Anaheim does hereby approve of the annexation to and the incor-
poration in the City of Anaheim of that certain territory which is
hereinbefore more particularly described, and does hereby declare
that from and after the -Late of the filing in the office of the
Secretary of State of the State of California of a certified copy
of the record of the canvass of the returns of said special elec-
tion in such new territory which is hereinbefore described, and a
certified co?y of t.LI.i.s ordinance, giving the date of its passage,
the annexation of such territory hereinbefore described shall be
deemed. to be and shall be complete and thenceforth such annexed
territory which is hereinbefore described shall be to all intents
and purposes a part of the City of An.ahein, except only that no
Property within such annexed territory shall ever be taxed to pay
any portion of any indebtedness or liability of said City of
Anaheim contracted prior to or existing at the time of such
annexation, except as otherwise provided by lave.
S CTION 2. The City Clerk of the City of Anaheim is
hereby directed to make and certify under the seal of the City of
Anaheim, and transmit to the ,secretary of State of the State of
California, a copy of the record of the canvass of the returns of

the election in such new territory which is hereinbefore described
and a certified copy of this ordinance, immediately after the
passage thereof.
SECIIION 3. The pity Clerk of 'the City of Anaheim is hereb;
directed to publish this ordinance with the names of the Trustees
voting for or against the passage of the same, once, in the
"Anaheim Gazette," a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the said City of Anaheim.
The foregoing ordiance No. 423 is signed, approved and
