The Board of Trustees of the City of

WHEREAS. there was filed with the
Board of Trustees of the City of Ana
beim, a municipal corporation 'of the
State of California, on the 4th day of

al Flortiz, and thirteen other electors re-
sidin; in the territory herein after de-
scribed, requesting, that the Board of
Triistees of the City of Anaheim call a

ed June 11, 1913, and all acts amenda-
tory thereof and supplementary thereto.
And that at said special election there
shall be submitted to the qualified elec-
tors residing within the boundaries of
said territory, the question of whether
said described territory shall be annexed
to, incorporated in and made a part of
send City of Anaheim.
SECTION 2,. That said territory is
hereby designated as "North and West
Addition," and said territory shall be re-
ferred to and designated upon the ballots
to be used at said election, as "North
and Vest Addition."
SECTION ?. That the territory within
the exterior boundaries above set forth
is located within the voting precincts
designated :East Anaheim Precinct and
West Anaheim Precinct ,the boundaries
of which said Precincts were fixed by
the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Orange, State of California, at a regu-
lar meeting of said Board of Supervisors
held on the Sth day of November, 1921,
;ill as appears in the book of minutes of
the meetings of said Board of Supervis-
hrs in the office of the County Clerk of
said County, and the number of election
nrec'nots within said territory for the
purpose of holding said election shall be
one.
And the Board of Trustees does hereby
pr6r,inet the whole of said territory into
one special election precinct to be dealg-

as herein+iter set forth.
SECTION 4. That the polling place in
said special election precinct No. 1 to
hereby fixed and shall be at the dwelling
fibuse. ow-.ied by C. Z. Vanderhorck, on
the northwest corner of North Palm
street and Nest North Street.
And the Board of Election to conduct
the said election in said Special Election
Precinct No. 1 shall be and they are
herby appointed as follows:
For Inspector, F. A. Dyckman.
For .Judges Elizabeth Sefton, Edward
Torrance.
All of the persons hereinabove named
are hereby appointed such officers of elec-
tion respectively ,and their compensation
Is hereby fixed at Five ($5.00) Dollars
each for said election.
SECTION 5. That the special election
hereby called and ordered to be
held shall be held and conduct-
ed and the votes thereat received
and canvassed and the re -tarns made and
the result thereof ascertained, determined
and declared as herein provided,and in all
particulars not recited herein, according
to the laws of the State of California pro-
viding for and governing the holding of
special elections so called and held, and
the polls for such election shall be and
remain open during the time required by
law.

Torrance in which said affidavit said Ed-
ward Torrance averred that said petition
was signed by not less than one-fourth in
number of the qualifiedelectors who re-
side in raid territory, and that each and
all of said signatures were signed and
subscribed tr- said petition in the pres-
ence of said affiant ,the said Edward Tor-
rance, and that said affiant was personal-
ly acquainted with each and all of the
persons who signed said petition, and
that said signatures were the bona fide
signatures of the persons whose names
they purported to be, and,
WHEREAS, said petition was accom-
panied by a.ertfficate of J. M. Backs, the
Coun+y C1e� of the County of Orange,
State of California, in which said J. M.
Backs certified that he had examined the -
said petition, and that said fourteen sign-
ers of said petition are and were at the
time of signing said petition registered
voters and qualified electors in the said
County of Orange, and
WHEREAS, after receiving said pets-
ttion ,and on the 4th day of January,
1923, said Board of Trustees pmeeded to
examine and did examine said Edward
Torrance, who then and there testified
under oath that the facts set `fort4, in
skid petition and in his affidavit accom•
panying the same were true," and thea
and there testified as to the number bf
nualified electors residingwithin thebound
daries of said territory hereinbefore de-
scribed, the genuineness of the signatures
to said petition and all other matters
connected therewith and relating there-
to.
Whereupon from the evidence Introduc-
ed at said hearing ,and at said time, sack
Board of Trustees finds the facts as fol-
lows:
First: That the territory described in
said petition and asked to be annexed to
the City of Anaheim is inhabited terri-
tory ,and that said territory is located in
the County of Orange, State of California,
and that no portion thereof lies within the
boundaries of any municipal corporation,
and the same is contiguous to the City of
Anaheim. `
Second: That said petition was signed
by not less than one=fourth the number
of the qualified electors residing within
the territory described therein, as shown
upon the register of voters of said Coun-
ty of Orange, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of
the City of Anaheim deems it to the ad=
vantage and to the best interests of said
territory. the boundaries of which are
hereinbefore described, and the Inhabi-
tants residing therein, and to the City of
Anaheim, and its inhabitants to annex to.
incorporate in and make a part of the
City of Anaheim t%e said territory, and
believes. that�`thh4t -raper of -sald yetitift
heretofore filed, as aforesaid, should be
granted and a special election called with-
in said territory for the purpose of vot-
ine on said proposition.
NOW THEREFORE:«-
SECTION 1. A special election Iihall
be, held and the same is hereby ordered
and called to be held within the Itmita-
tions of the territory described -and-
bounded. as hereinbefore more particn-
larly set forth .on Tuesday ,the 13th day
of February, 1923. pursuant to the provis-
ions of an Act of the Legislature of -the

failure on the part of any elector
to receive such sample ballot shall not
be held to invalidate the election or af-
fect in any manner the legality thereof.
SFCTTON 9, The City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim shall certify to the passage
or this ordinance and cause the same to
be published once in the "Anaheim Ga-
zette," a newspaper of general cirpula-
tion, printed, published and circulated in
said city ,and from and after the date of
its passage the same shall take effect and
the in fall force.
The foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted at •a regular meeting of the
Board of Trustees Of the City of Ana-
heim held on the 11th day of January,
1923. and the same is hereby signed, ap-
proved and attested by me this 11th day
ofJanuary, 1923.
