2001-057RESOLUTION NO. 2001R- .57 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ADJUSTING RATES OF COMPENSATION AND ESTABLISHING PAY POLICIES FOR CLASSIFICATIONS DESIGNATED AS CONFIDENTIAL AND SUPERSEEDING RESOLUTION NO. 98R-13 AND AMENDMENTS THERETO WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report dated March 6, 2001, that the rates of compensation for Confidential job classes shall be adjusted as stated below; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adjust rates of compensation and establish pay policies for such job classes and supersede Resolution No. 98R-13 and amendments thereto; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that adjusting these rates of compensation is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows: Section 1. That, effective September 29, 2000 through January 3, 2002, the basic compensation plan for all officers and employees of the City of Anaheim who are now employed or will in the future be employed in any of the classifications listed below shall be allocated to the following salary schedules in the Salary Schedule Master: Step Classification Schedule Number Ran.qe Accounting Specialist - The City of Anaheim shall continue to pay a total of seven percent (7.0%) of the employee contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System for employees working in job classifications listed in Section 1 of this Resolution. Section 4. Employees required to speak, read and/or write in Spanish or other languages, as well as English, as part of the regular duties of their position, will be compensated at the rate of sixty dollars ($60.00) per biweekly pay period in addition to their regular pay as provided under Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. Section 5. The regular hourly rate of pay and overtime compensation for employees working in job classes listed in Section 1 of this Resolution shall be computed as provided in Personnel Rule 5, Hours of Work and Pay Day and Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. The letter "X" preceding a salary schedule number indicates that employees working in that job class are exempt from overtime provisions as provided in Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. Section 6. The letter "U" preceding a salary schedule number indicates that employees upgraded to that job class shall be paid premium pay as provided below. Employees upgraded to a job classification with a designation of "U2" must work a minimum of two (2) hours in the upgrade classification in order to receive the upgrade pay, in accordance with Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. Employees upgraded to a job classification with a designation of "UFS" must work a minimum one (1) complete work shift or longer before payment will be made from the first day in accordance with Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. To the extent that this Section is inconsistent with the actual wording contained in Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay, the terms of this Section shall prevail. Section 7. Employees hired to work on a part-time basis in any of the classifications listed in Section 1 of this Resolution will be compensated at the hourly rate of pay established for the full-time classification. Section 8.
