ORDINANCE NUMBER
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REGULATING THE
KEEPING OF CERTAIN FOWLS AND ANIMALS WITHIN THE
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, and
REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 157, ENTITLED NAN ORDINANCE
REGULATING THE KEEPING OF CERTAIN FOWLS AND ANIMALS
WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIMN, ADOPTED
ON THE 22nd DAY OF DECEMBER, 1903, AND ALL ORDINANCES
AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS ORDINANCE.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation in the City of Anaheim to keep or maintain chickens,
rabbits, geese, ducks, or other fowls, goats, swine, guinea -pigs,
or maintain kennels, without first obtaining from.the Health
Department of the City of Anaheim a permit so to do.
SECTION 2. It is hereby made the duty of the Health Depart-
ment to investigate all applications or permits to keep chickens,
rabbits, geese, ducks, or other fowls, goats, swine, guinea -gigs,
or maintain kennels within the City of Anaheim, and it is hereby
made the duty of said Health Department to refuse to issue a per-
mit where it is found by such investigation that the granting of
said permit would be in violation of any existing ordinance or law
of the State of California, or, if, in the opinion of said Health
Department, the granting of said permit would be detrimental t6
the comfortable enjoyment of life or property.
SECTION 3. Rabbit hutches, guinea-pig hutches, and kennels
must be constructed of a type approved by the Health Department.
SECTION 4. Any permit granted under the provisions of this
Ordinance may be revoked for cause, or for the violation of any of
Ithe provisions of this ordinance, or any ordinance of the City of
Anaheim, or law of the State of California.
SECTION 5. It shall be unlawful for any person who keeps or
has upon premises owned or occupied by him withA the limits of
the City of Anaheim, any horse, mule, cow, or other meat cattle,

goat, hog or other domestic animal to so keep or have such animal
or animals that, by accumulation of manure or other offensive
matter, or,by their noise, or by any other act or thing, they

shall be offensive to or shall annoy any person residing in the
neighborhood where they are kept or had, so as to render life
uncomfortable.
SECTION 6. Any person who shall violate any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeano3
and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not
less than Five ($5.00) Dollars nor -more than Three Hundred
(0300.00 ) Dollars, or by imprisonment in the City 4ail of said
City of Anaheim for not less than two (2) days nor more than
thirty (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance, and cause the same to be published once in the
"Anaheim Gazette", a weekly newspaper published and circulated in
the City of Anaheim, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
