THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF

SECTION 1. That Section 5 of Ordi-
nance No. 507 of the City of Anaheim,
)ntitled: "An Ordinance Providing for
the Licensing of,Business, Professions, 1
Shows, Exhibitions and Games Con- I
ducted or Carried - on in the cty of
Anaheim, Fixing the Rate -of License
Therefor. Providing for Collection
Thereof, and Fixing Penalties for the i
Violation Thereof," be amended to, read 1
as follows:
SECTION 5. All licenses shall be paid
in advance in the legal currency of the
United States, at the office of the City
Marshal
Provided, however, that the licenses
required to be paid by the provisions
of this Ordinance shall be due and pay-
able from and after the first day of
July, 1927. A separate lioense must be
obtained for each branch establishment
or separate place of business in which
the business, profession, show, eshibl-
tion or game is carried on, and each
license shall authorize the party ob-
taining it to carry on, pursue or con-
duct only that business, profession,
show, exhibition or game described in
such license, and which is indicated
thereby, and all of the provisions of
this . ordinance shall apply with equal
force to branch estblishments.
The annual license in this Ordinance
provided for shall be due and payable
to they City at the time specified here-
in respectively, or when not so spect-
fled, on the first day of July of each
year, but the first annual 'license is-
sued to any person as herein Provided I
shall be issued for the 'Unexpired period
of such year, except as herein other-
wise in this Ordinance specifically pro-
vided.
No greater or less amount of money
shall be charged or received for any
license than is 'provided In this Ordi=
nance, and no license shall be sold
or issued for any period ,of bine other
than as provided in this ordinance, ex-
cept that all licenses th&t' are issued
hereunder for a'period of one (1) Year
shall be due on the first day of July
of each and every year, and that should
a license be obtained after the first of
July of any year, the amount to be'
paid for said license shall be in the
proportion as the number of months
in the unexpired year bear to the -total
amount of yearly license; provided,
.. however, that no 'amount of money,
shall be collected for such license in an

SECTION 2. All Ordinances, or parts
of Ordinances, In conflict with the pro-
visions of this Ordinance, are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3. If any section, sub -sec -
kion, sentence, clause, or phrase of this
Ordinance is for any reason heldto be
invalid or unconstitutional, such decis-
ion shall, not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of the Ordinance.
The Board of Trustees of the City of
Anaheim hereby declares that it would
have passed this Ordinance, and each -
section. sub -section, sentence, clause,
.and phrase thereof, irrespective of the
fact that any one or more other sec-
tions, sub -sections, sentence, clauses or
phrases be declared invalid or uncon-
stitutional.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance, and shall
cause the same to,be printed and pub--
liehed once in the Anaheim Gazette, a
weekly newspaper of general circula-
tion, printed, published and circulated ,
in said City, and thirty '(30) days from
and after its final passage, it shall take
effect and be in full force.
