NA-HEIM." THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN: :AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 29 of Or- dinance No. 573 of the City of Anaheim; entitled, "An Ordinance .Providing § System for the Assessment, Levy and Collection of City Taxes for the City of Anaheim," be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 29. On the fifth day of De- cember of each year at five o'clock P. M., all taxes then unpaid, except the last installment of real property taxes, are delinquent, and thereafter the tax collector must collect, for the use of the city, an additional eight per cent (8o-/) penalty thereon; provided, that if they be not paid before the .twentieth day of April next succeeding, at five o'clock P. M., he shall collect an addi- tional three per cent (3 o-/0) thereon. On the twentieth day of April of each year, at five o'clock P. M., all the un- paid portion of the remaining one-half of the taxes on real property is de- linquent, and thereafter the Chief of Police must collect, for the use of the city, an additional three per cent (39o'}, thereon; provided, that the entire tax on any real property may be paid at the time the first installment, as above provided, is due and payable; and pro- vided, further, that the taxes on all - personal property unsecured by� real property shall be due and payable im- mediately after the assessment of said, personal property is made; provided; further, that upon delinquency in addi- tion to the other charges, the Chief of Police shall charge fifty cents ($.50}' for each parcel of real property separ'- ately assessed and each assessment on personal property. SECTION 2. Whereas, kwdln= ance-wms- ; soriforin to'the State law with reference to penalties, and, whereas the penalties have now ac- crued, and the City Council has de- termined that the public interest re- quires that this ordinance should take! effect immediately upon its passage, it is therefore declared an emergency issue, to take effect immediately upon its publication, and the provisions thereof, upon taking effect, shall be retroactive to the 5th day of December, 1933. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance, and cause the same to be published once, in the Anaheim Gazette, a weekly news- paper printed and.published in the City of Anaheim, and after such publication, this ordinance shall be in full force.
