RES-2007-073WHEREAS, the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend, scheduled for September 1
through 3, 2007, is part of the Disneyland Resort's Year of a Million Dreams celebration and is to
be "the happiest race on earth and
WHEREAS, 13,000 runners and walkers will participate in this 13.1 mile course
through the Disney theme parks and along City streets passing the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim,
Angel Stadium, and Interstate 5 (I -5); and
WHEREAS, safety along the course will require an approximate four -hour
temporary closure of I -5 ramps at four locations; and
WHEREAS, traffic control plans have been prepared, and a certificate of
insurance has been prepared to the satisfaction of Caltrans; and
traffic closures.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
that the City of Anaheim requests temporary closures of up to four hours on September 3, 2007,
between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. at 1) southbound I -5 at Harbor Boulevard, 2) southbound I -5 at
Disney Way, 3) northbound I -5 at Katella Avenue, and 4) north and southbound at Gene Autry
Way.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this Slay of June, 2007, by the following roll call vote:
