WHEREAS. the City of Anaheim desires to submit an application to Grantor for said Grant
for Fire Department purposes: and

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF OR HIS
DESIGNEE TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM TO THE OFFICE OF
DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
HOMELAND SECURITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2009 /2010
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM
(AFGP) AND IF AWARDED, AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF SUCH GRANT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
AND AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR
2009/2010 ACCORDINGLY.
WHEREAS. the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of any such Grant;
WHEREAS. the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions and
limitations imposed upon any such Grant to the City; and
foll ows:
WHEREAS. the City desires to accept any such Grant which may be awarded to the City; and
WHEREAS. the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to reflect and
incorporate any Grant so awarded to the City, and to increase the annual appropriations and
expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such award.
'IOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as
1. That the Anaheim Fire Chief or his or her designee is hereby authorized to submit a Grant
application for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the
laws of the State of California. and that the Anaheim Fire Department Disaster Preparedness
Manager, or the Anaheim Fire Chief, or the Anaheim City Manager, or their respective
designee is authorized to execute any actions necessary for the purpose of obtaining federal
financial assistance provided by the federal Office of Domestic Preparedness of the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security, including any extensions and amendments thereof.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this resolution, does
accept any such Grant so awarded to the City of Anaheim without further action of the City
Council being required therefore.
The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions
and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the Anaheim Fire Department
Disaster Preparedness Manager, or the Anaheim Fire Chief, or the Anaheim City Manager, or
their respective designee is hereby authorized and directed to execute any agreements,
assurances, or other documents as may be necessary in connection with the acceptance of
said Grant as may he required by the Grantor, if such Grant is awarded to the City.
4. If said Grant is awarded, the fiscal year 2009/2010 revenue and expenditure
appropriations will be increased by S1,100,000, which amount includes twenty percent (20
local matching funds, and the Finance Director is hereby authorized to carry forward into
future fiscal years any unexpended appropriation related hereto.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim this 19th day of May 2009, by the following roll call vote:
