RES-2008-001WHEREAS, the Internal Revenue Services periodically adjusts its mileage reimbursement
rate. Any amount reimbursed for business driving greater than the established rate is considered
taxable income; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim periodically, by motion, adopts the increase in the mileage
reimbursement as established by the Internal Revenue Service; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to establish an ongoing policy for mileage
reimbursement that would automatically match the mileage reimbursement of the Internal Revenue
Service.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby finds, determines and
declares that
(1) The mileage reimbursement rate for City of Anaheim employees shall be the
rate established by the Internal Revenue Service and such rate for City of Anaheim employees shall
be adjusted periodically to match the mileage reimbursement rate approved by the Internal Revenue
Service.
(2) The Director of Finance shall notify the Departments of the City of Anaheim
of such rate change and amount within thirty (30) days of such change.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim this gth day of January 2008 and shall take effect from and after its adoption.
