A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2000R-130 WHICH ESTABLISHED
COMPENSATION POLICIES FOR EXECUTIVE, ADMINISTRATIVE,
MIDDLE MANAGEMENT, PROFESSIONAL, SUPERVISORY, FIRE AND
POLICE SAFETY MANAGEMENT dOB CLASSIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report dated
June 5, 2001, that Resolution No. 2000R-130 be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth,
effective June 22, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that amending Resolution
No. 2000R-130 is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to amend Resolution No. 2000R-130
which established Compensation Policies for Executive, Administrative, Middle Management,
Professional, Supervisory, Fire and Police Safety Management job classifications.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as
follows:
1. That, a new Section 8.02.01 be added and Section 8.05 be revised, to read as
follows:
"8.02.01
Part-time management employees will be eligible to receive merit increases in
accordance with 8.02 through 8.05 of these Management Pay Policies."
"8.05 Compa-ratio 90.01 - 100.00
Compa-ratio 100.01 - 110.00
3.O% - 4%
3.0% - 4% not to exceed compa-ratio 110.0"
2. That, Sections 13.02 and 13.04 be revised and a new Section 13.041 be added, to read as
follows:
"13.02
An employee who is promoted shall be placed at the minimum of the new range or at
a salary in the range which provides a 10% pay increase as long as it does not
exceed a compa-ratio of 105. If a 10% pay increase places the employee's salary
beyond 105 compa-ratio, the employee shall receive a minimum of 5% increase or an
increase between 5% and 10% in order to bring the employee to 105 compa-ratio. In
no case may the employee's salary exceed the Control Point. A new merit review
date shall be established in accordance with Section 8.0 of these Pay Policies.
13.04
An employee who is promoted or assigned to the classification of Electrical Field
Superintendent, Facility Maintenance Supervisor, Fire Battalion Chief or Police
Lieutenant, shall be placed at a rate in the range which provides a 15% pay increase
as long as it does not exceed a compa-ratio of 105. If a 15% pay increase places the
employee's salary beyond 105 compa-ratio, the employee shall receive a minimum of
5% increase or an increase between 5% and 15% in order to bring the employee to
105 compa-ratio.. In no case may the employee's base salary exceed the Control
Point. A new merit review date shall be established in accordance with Section 8 of
these Pay Policies.

13.04.01 The new pay rate for promotion to Fire Battalion Chief shall be calculated
using the base hourly rate plus any assignment pay (Paramedic, Hazardous
Materials or Fire/Arson Investigator)."
That, Sections 14.01.02 and 14.02.01 be revised to read as follows:
"14.01.02
An employee who is assigned to the classification of Fire Division Chief shall be
given a 15% pay increase as long as it does not exceed a compa-ratio of 105. If
a 15% pay increase places the employee's salary beyond 105 compa-ratio, the
employee shall receive a minimum of 5% increase or an increase between 5%
and 15% in order to bring the employee to 105 compa-ratio.. In no case may the
employee's base salary exceed the Control Point. A new merit review date shall
be established in accordance with Section 8 of these Pay Policies.
14.02.01
An employee who is assigned to the classification of Police Captain or Deputy
Chief of Police shall be given a 10% pay increase as long as it does not exceed a
compa-ratio of 105. If a 10% pay increase places the employee's salary beyond
105 cempa-ratio, the employee shall receive a minimum of 5% increase or an
increase between 5% and 10% in order to bring the employee to 105 compa-
ratio. In no case may the employee's base salary exceed the Control Point. A
new merit review date shall be established in accordance with Section 8 of these
Pay Policies."
4. That, Sections 15.02 and 15.06 be revised and a new Section 15.06.01 be added, to read as
follows:
"15.02
An incumbent who is reclassified with his/her position to a job class at a higher range
shall be placed at the minimum of the new range or at a rate in the range which
provides a 10% pay increase as long as it does not exceed a compa-ratio of 105. If a
10% pay increase places the employee's salary beyond 105 compa-ratio, the
employee shall receive a minimum of 5% increase or an increase between 5% and
10% in order to bring the employee to 105 compa-ratio. In no case may the
employee's salary exceed the Control Point. The employee shall be given a new
merit review date in accordance with Section 8 of these Policies.
15.06
An incumbent who is reclassified to the classification of Electrical Field

Section 8 of these Policies.
15.06.01 The new pay rate for reclassification to Fire Battalion Chief shall be
calculated using the base hourly rate plus any assignment pay (Paramedic,
Hazardous Materials or Fire/Arson Investigator)."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution shall be June 22,

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, except as amended herein, Resolution no.
2000R-130 shall remain in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council this
19thday of June ., 2001.
