CALL TO ORDER–Chairman Crawfordcalled the meeting to order at 5.31p.m.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE–Chairman Crawfordled the Pledge of Allegiance.
INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND COMMUNICATIONS–Cathy Glasgow introduced herself as Community
Services Superintendent.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES–Chairman Crawfordpresented the January 25, 2012Minutes to the Commissioners
forchanges or corrections. Commissioner Huitt requested for a sentence to be added to her report stating the
request by seniors in the community for exercise equipment to be installed at city parks. There being no further
additions or corrections, Chairman Crawford accepted the January 25, 2012 Minutes as amended.
ACTIVITY REPORTS
A.Recreation and Human ServicesActivity Report-December 2011/January 2012–Lynn Smithpresented the
reportand answered questions regarding the Park Rangersparticipation in the 24-hour “Fire Watch;”Sheila
Gold Foundation donation; revenue of the Downtown Anaheim Community Center for December 2011-
January 2012; and aBoy Scout volunteer event.
B.Recreation and Human Services Park Ranger Report–Lynn Smith presented the report and answered
questions from the Commissioners regarding Park Ranger StatisticsReport.
C.Parks Capital Project Progress Report–Pamela Galera presented the report and provided updates on the
following projects:
Anaheim Outdoors –Staff continues the community input process. The next public meeting scheduled
on February 29, 2012 will highlight “Bicycle Boulevards” on Santa Ana and Lemon Streets.
Colony Park–Colony Park received an Award of Excellence for Park Planning by the California Parks
and Recreation Society.
Guinida Lane–Staff continues to hold community meetings for the development of a pocket park.
Miraloma–Staff continues to hold community meetings and construction documents are complete.
SCE Dog Park –Staff continues to research funding opportunities and continues to work with Southern
California Edison to approve the Master Plan and Agreement.

D.Senior Citizen Sub-Committee Report–Commissioner Huitt requested abbreviationclarification of the
“Downtown Anaheim Community Center.”Lynn Smith stated the usage of “DTCC” abbreviation will be
eliminatedand “DACC” is now being used.
Commissioner Huitt stated a nutritionist at the County of Orange, Health and Nutrition meeting reported the
suggested maximum daily salt intake of 2000mg per day will be changed to 1500mg.
NEW BUSINESS
A.Pearson Park Amphitheatre Proposed Shade Project –Cathy Glasgow, Community Services
Superintendent, made a presentation for the Pearson Park Amphitheatre Proposed Shade Projectand
answered questions. Cathy Glasgow stated a local Polynesian Dance group donated $2,500 for the design
work of the proposed project.Cathy Glasgow stated the project is not funded at this time.
