RES-2012-048 RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 048 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING TEMPORARY CLOSURES TO CALTRANS 1 -5 OFFRAMPS FOR DISNEYLAND HALF MARATHON WHEREAS, the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend, is scheduled for August 31, September 1 -2, 2012; and WHEREAS, 14,000 runners and walkers will participate in this 13.1 mile course through the Disney theme parks and along City streets passing the Honda Center, Angel Stadium, and Interstate 5 (I -5); and WHEREAS, safety along the course will require an approximate four -hour temporary closure of 1 -5 ramps at three locations; and WHEREAS, traffic control plans have been prepared, and a certificate of insurance has been prepared to the satisfaction of Caltrans; and WHEREAS, DISNEY agrees to reimburse Caltrans for costs of the traffic closures. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests temporary closures of up to four hours on September 2, 2012, between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. at 1) southbound 1 -5 at Harbor Boulevard, 2) southbound I -5 at Disney Way, and 3) northbound 1 -5 at Katella Avenue.
