A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND
USE ELEMENT OF THE ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN
DESIGNATED AS AMENDMENT NO. 2000-00379,
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, pursuant to the
recommendations of the Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim, adopted a General Plan for the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of July, 2001, the City
Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim did hold a public
hearing to consider a General Plan Amendment. The General Plan
Amendment does consider changing the land use designation for the
area of land consisting of-
Parcel 1- An irregularly-shaped 10.5-acre
area located at the northwest corner of La
Palma Avenue and Brookhurst Street with
frontages of 120 feet on north side of La
Palma Avenue and 540 feet on the west side of
Brookhurst Street, and further described as
1101 - 1111 North Brookhurst Street.
Parcel 2- An irregularly-shaped 5.5-acre
area located at the northeast corner of La
Palma Avenue and Brookhurst Street with
frontages of 375 feet on the north side of La
Patma Avenue and 690 feet on the east side of
Brookhurst Street, and further described as
1110 - 1142 North Brookhurst Street and 2141
- 2175 West La Palma Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Parcel 1 is developed with a church zoned ML
"Limited Industrial" and an auto repair shop zoned CG "Commercial
General"; that the existing General Industrial land use
designation is intended to provide for and encourage the
development of industrial uses and related facilities; and that
the proposed General Commercial land use designation is intended
to provide for and encourage the orderly development of a wide
variety of commercial uses, shopping centers, and small
businesses, and that said designation is typically implemented by
CL (Commercial, Limited) and CO (Commercial, Office and
Professional) zoning; and
WHEREAS, Parcel 2 is developed with commercial

CL "Commercial, Limited"; that the existing Commercial
Professional land use designation on the southerly portion is
intended to provide for and encourage the development of business
and professional office centers, business offices, financial
institutions, etc. (which designation is typically implemented by
the CO [Commercial, Office and Professional] Zone), and that the
Low Density Residential land use designation on the north portion
is intended to provide for and encourage the development of
detached single-family homes not exceeding the maximum density
range prescribed the General Plan and zoning (which designation
is typically implemented by the RS-10,000 or RS-7200
[Residential, Single-Family] zones); and that the proposed
General Commercial land use designation is intended to provide
for orderly development of a wide variety of commercial uses,
shopping centers, and small businesses and is typically
implemented by the CL (Commercial, Limited) Zone; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the City Planning
Commission did duly adopt its Resolution No. PC2001-86 containing
a report of its findings, a summary of the evidence presented at
said hearing, and recommending that said Amendment to the General
Plan designated as Amendment No. 2000-00379 be adopted by the
City Council changing the land use designation for the
aforedescribed area to "General Commercial" in accordance with
Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of said Resolution, summary of
evidence, report of findings and recommendations of the City
Planning Commission, the City Council did fix the 28th day of
August, 2001, as the time, and the City Council Chamber in the
Civic Center as the place for a public hearing on said proposed
Amendment No. 2000-00379 and did give notice thereof in the
manner and as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did duly hold and conduct
such public hearing and did give all persons interested therein
an opportunity to be heard, and did receive evidence and reports
and did consider the recommendations of the City Planning
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
Amendment No. 2000-00379 changing the land use designation in the
aforedescribed area in accordance with Exhibit "A" on file with
the City should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Amendment No. 2000-00379 to the General
Plan changing the land use designation for the aforedescribed
area to "General Commercial" in accordance with Exhibit "A" on
file with the City be, and the same is hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Department be,
and it is hereby, instructed to amend the General Plan Map to
conform to General Plan Amendment No. 2000-00379 as herein
adopted and approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 28th day of August,
2001.
