Commissioner Pinson called the meeting to order at 4:05p.m.
MINUTES
Commissioner Linn moved to approve the minutes of July 17, 1996. Seconded by
Commissioner Holguin. MOTION CARRIED (4 -0 -0). Commissioners McMillan, Renner
and Sheldon absent.
The minutes from August 28 and September 5, 1996 were not acted on. Commissioner
Linn noted he was absent from both of the aforementioned meetings.
MEETING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mr. Bruckner announced that the Community Redevelopment Commission meeting for
September 25, 1996, will be held at the Dad Miller Golf Course in the Greenside Cafe
from 6:00p.m. - 9:00p.m. There will be a public workshop on the Brookhurst Commercial
Corridor.
DISCUSSION
A. Sale of Remnant Parcel (Wheel Warehouse)
Mr. Hobson gave a brief presentation regarding the Disposition and Development
Agreement between the Agency and the Cullen Family Trust (Commercial Industrial
Project Area). The City transferred ownership of the remnant parcel to the Agency
following completion of the Anaheim Boulevard widening and realignment project. He
stated the parcel may be used to expand existing buildings or to add additional parking.

Commissioner Linn moved that the Redevelopment Commission recommend that the
Agency approve the Disposition and Development agreement (DDA) between the Agency
and the Cullen Family Trust. Seconded by Commissioner Perreira. (4 -0 -0).
Commissioners Holguin, McMillan, and Renner absent.
PROTECT UPDATE
Brookhurst Corridor Richard Bruckner introduced Laura Muna - Landa, Project Manager,
and Gay Forbes, Economic Development Manager. Ms. Muna -Lands gave a brief
presentation on the Brookhurst Redevelopment Corridor and handed out a set of maps to
the Commissioners. In addition, she invited the Commission to attend the Brookhurst
Corridor Community meeting on Wednesday, September 25, 1996 from 6:00p.m. to
9:00p.m. and handed each Commissioner an invitation. Mr. Bruckner briefly described the
highlights of the Brookhurst maps and information to be presented on
September 25, 1996.
Economic Development Ms. Forbes invited the Commission to the "Breakfast
Roundtable" to be held on Wednesday, September 26, 1999 from 7:30a.m. to 9:00a.m. at
the Anaheim Hilton & Towers. She handed each Commissioner an invitation.
Ms. Forbes invited the Commission to attend the Economic Development Workshop to be
held on Tuesday, September 24, 1996 at 3:00p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
Ms. Forbes stated the City of Anaheim's Business Assistance Program will be offering
workshops on a variety of topics including a three part series on "Learn How to Become a
Marketing Wizard" to be held on Tuesdays, September 17, 24 and October 1, 1996 from
6:30p.m. - 9:30p.m. in the Gordon Hoyt Conference Center. The workshops are offered
free of charge to Anaheim businesses.
Sportstown RFO : Mr. Hobson and Mr. Agle are the key people providing staff support
for the Sportstown Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Mr. Hobson stated they have sent
out over 200 RFQs. October 11, 1996 is the deadline for all submittals.
Downtown Activities Mr. Bruckner stated over 100 people attended the Downtown
Visioning Session. They will summarize the meeting and provide the comments to the
Commission as a report.

Beach Boulevard Funding for the Beach Boulevard adoption process is being presented
to City Council next week. The adoption requires a $200,000 loan from the City which
the Agency will pay back over a period of time with tax increment. The adoption is
expected to be completed prior to 1998. He stated future updates on Beach Boulevard
will be forwarded to the Commission.
Rockwell: Rockwell has commissioned a master planning study for this site within Project
Alpha. Rockwell may sell off 40 to 50 acres. Rockwell is selling their defense industry to
Boeing including the Anaheim location. They currently have between three and four
thousand employees in Anaheim.
Historic Preservation Guidelines The Historic Preservation Guidelines Committee has
been meeting for approximately 6 mdnths. The bus tour of the Historic Preservation area
in Pasadena was a success and provided all concerned with a wealth of information. The
process to develop guidelines is expected to take another 3 or 4 months. It was suggested
that a representative from the Redevelopment Commission attend the meetings.
Commissioner Sheldon asked for a list of committee members. In addition, Commissioner
Sheldon asked for the minutes of past meetings.
Grimshaw House The Agency exercised its option and purchased the Grimshaw House
from Mr. Waltz. A lot of work has been done on the Cottage and that project should be
completed by the end of October.
Post Office Groundbreakinsz The Redevelopment Commission was invited to attend the
Post Office Groundbreaking to take place on Tuesday, September 24, 1996 at 1 I:00a.m.
between Harbor Boulevard and Clementine Street, across from Disney ICE
Next Workshop with Peter Lewis It was suggested that the next workshop with Peter
Lewis be held on October 9, 1996 in order to accommodate everyone's schedule.
