A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 97R-101 WHICH ESTABLISHED RATES OF
COMPENSATION FOR UNREPRESENTED PART-TIME JOB CLASSIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report dated
March 19, 2002, that Resolution No. 97R-101 be amended in the manner set forth, effective
March 15, 2002.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that the aforementioned
amendment is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to amend Resolution No 97R-101 which
established rates of compensation for classifications designated as Unrepresented Part-Time.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as
follows:
1. That, Section 1 of Resolution No. 97R-101 be amended by deleting the following
job classification effective March 15, 2002.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of said amendments to Resolution
No. 97R-101 is March 15, 2002.
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, except as amended herein, Resolution No.
97R-101 shall remain in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the

COUNCIL ASSISTANT II (A)
DEFINITION: Under direction and supervision, provides a variety of para-
professional level staff duties in support of the Mayor and/or individual City
Council members on a part-time basis.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review and comprehend a variety of confidential and/or highly sensitive
information, while maintaining confidentiality.
Conduct research related to City policies, procedures, operational programs,
budgets, or other issues related to City business. Prepare oral and written reports
of findings for the Mayor and/or individual City Council members.
Review and summarize or report upon agenda items; request additional
information from departments as necessary for report preparation as requested by
the Mayor and/or individual City Council members and memorialize findings..
Work with a variety of City staffto obtain information related to City business, in
response to requests from the Mayor, City Council members, and the general
public.
Using a thorough knowledge of functions and procedures, prepare letters, other
correspondence and staff reports related to City business for review and approval
by the Mayor and/or individual City Council members.
Under direction and supervision, and using objective standards, prepare a variety
of informational and statistical reports related to City business, as requested by the
Mayor and/or individual City Council members.
Use a personal computer and word processing, statistical and presentation
software in the preparation of reports and presentations.
Attend meetings related to City business with, and/or on behalf of, individual City
Council members as requested. Assemble and distribute follow-up information as
required.
Perform other job-related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE: Experience performing complex administrative staff work
KNOWLEDGE OF: Principles and practices of public administration; concepts
of council/manager form of government; basic workings of a local government
entity; principles and practices of fiscal planning; methods of cost allocation;
generally accepted accounting principles; methods of research; and report writing.
ABILITY TO: Work under supervision and direction in the performance of
assigned duties; comprehend budgets and other financial information; read,
understand and apply highly complex information; gather, organize, understand
and summarize or report upon data; conduct and report upon objective surveys
and special studies; prepare timely, complete, clear and precise reports using
objective standards; maintain accurate statistical information; prepare a variety of
presentations; operate a personal computer and use word processing, statistical
and presentation software; communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
exercise sensitivity in dealing with a wide variety of public issues; maintain
confidentiality; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those
contacted in the course of work including City officials, representatives and
officials of government jurisdictions; management, employees and the general
public.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work in an office environment. Use a
personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, fax,
photocopier, and audio-visual.
LICENSE AND OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Possession of a valid
California Driver's License.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED: Works under administrative supervision. Work
is outlined and reviewed periodically.
