A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM ADOPTING THE "ANAHEIM
MASTER PLAN OF STORM DRAINAGE FOR NORTH
AND WEST SANTA ANA RIVER TRIBUTARY AREAS
MAY 2014"
W�-IEREAS, the future needs of the CITY for expansion and capital
improvements of its sanitary sewer system require periodic updating and amendment to accoun!
for growth and shifting population patterns; and
WHEREAS, the existing sewer infrastructure for portions of the CITY i::
antiquated and may be inadequate to handle existing and future capacities expected to be
generated by the land uses permitted on the CITY'S General Plan; and
WHEREAS, changes in land uses and revised sewer design parameters make it
desirable to develop long-and short-range plans for the CITY' S sewer system; and
WHEREAS, the most comprehensive and reliable method for study of sanitary�
needs required a regional approach rather than more fragmented study areas previously utilized
to determine future sewer requirements; and
W�IEREAS, the North and West Santa Ana River Tributary Areas that are the�
subject of this study are generally described as follows: Drainage District 27 is bounded by L��.
Palma Avenue to the north, the Santa Ana River and State Route 57 to the East, Chapman
Avenue to the South and State College Boulevard to the West; Drainage District 30 is bounded
by East La Jolla Street to the north, the Santa Ana River to the East, Ball Road to the South, ani'.
State Route 57 to the West; Drainage District 31 is bounded by the Carbon Canyon Creek
Diversion Channel to the West, Anaheim Lake to the North, and rail road tracks to the East;
Drainage District 33, of which 14 acres were analyzed, such analyzed region is bounded b}
Hancock Street to the East and Lakeview Avenue to the West; Drainage District 34 is bounded
by the Imperial Highway to the North and East, Lakeview to the West and Orangethorpe Avenue
to the South; Drainage District 35 is bounded by Orangethorpe Avenue to the North, the Imperial
Highway to the East, Lakeview Avenue to the West and the Santa Ana River to the South; and.
Drainage District 42, of which 290 acres were analyzed, such analyzed region is bounded b}�
Esperanza Road to the North, the Imperial Highway to the West, La Palma Avenue to the Soutr
and the City limits to the East; and
WHEREAS, the City published a Master Plan of Drainage for the City of�
Anaheim in 1973 and that report divided the City into 42 Drainage Districts based generally on
local storm drainage facilities and the City limits at that time and since that time boundaries of
some of the Districts have been modified from the 1973 Master Plan boundaries and as such, all

references to areas in the Master Plan of Storm Drainage for North and West Santa Ana River
Tributary Areas are based on the new boundaries; and
W�IEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to adopt the Master Plan of Storm
Drainage for North and West Santa Ana River Tributary Areas dated May 2014 on file in the
Office of the City Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. The City Council does hereby adopt the "Master Plan of Storm Drainage for
North and West Santa Ana River Tributary Areas May 2014 " to supersede
previous sanitary sewer surveys within the area included within the study area
thereof.
2. Prior resolutions adopting sanitary sewer surveys or portions thereof which are
outside the area surveyed by the Master Plan of Storm Drainage for North and
West Santa Ana River Tributary Areas shall remain in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 22nd Day of Jul� , 2014, by the following
roll call vote:
