A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT
APPLICATION AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR THE
SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM
(STEP)/AVOID LEAD AGENCY GRANT, AUTHORIZING
THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE ALL REQUIRED
GRANT DOCUMENTS, AND AMENDING THE BUDGET
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2014-15 ACCORDINGLY.
WHEREAS, The State of California, Office of Traffic Safety (the "Grantor") has
heretofore invited public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications
for the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP)/AVOID Lead Agency Grant to the
Grantor (the "Grant"); and
WHEREAS, on January 15, 2014, the Police Chief of the City of Anaheim, by and
through his designee, submitted an application on behalf of the City of Anaheim to the
Grantor for said Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of the
Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms,
conditions and limitations imposed upon the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded and desires to accept the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to
reflect and incorporate the Grant funds awarded to the City, and to increase the annual
appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. The submission of the application for the Grant by the Police Chief on behalf
of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the laws of the State
of California, to the Grantor is hereby ratified and approved.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this
resolution does, accept the Grant without further action of the City Council
being required therefor.
3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms,
conditions and limitations imposed by'the Grantor upon said Grant, and the
Anaheim Police Chief is hereby authorized and directed to execute any
agreements, assurances, or other documents that are required or necessary
in connection with the acceptance or implementation of the Grant.
4. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim for Fiscal Year 2014-15 shall be
amended by increasing the appropriations and authorized expenditures in
Program No. 218-309-3050 in such amounts as are equal to the amount of
Grant funds to be received by the City.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 23rd day of SeFtember , 2014, by the
following roll call vote:
