COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairman Manes, Vice Chairman Brennan, and Commissioners Navarro, Levy, Anderson,
and Jensen
COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Lappin
STAFF PRESENT: Sjany Larson-Cash Community Services Manager, Larry Pasco Parks Manager,
Eleanor Granflor Sr. Secretary
CALL TO ORDER Chairman Manes called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairman Manes led the Pledge of Allegiance.
INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND COMMUNICATION FROM OTHERS

B.Unscheduled Oral Communication from the Public None.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Chairman Manes presented the October 22, 2014 Minutes to the Commissioners for
changes or corrections. Commissioner Levy made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Jensen.
There being no further additions or corrections, Chairman Manes accepted the Minutes.
REPORTS
A.Parks Activity Report September/October Larry Pasco presented the report and highlighted fire clearance completed
in Anaheim Hills and the 2014 Cal Fire grant which allowed the planting of 52 trees at Peralta Park. Larry also answered
questions and overnight parking at Pearson Park.
B.Park Ranger Patrol Statistics Report October: Sjany Larson-Cash presented the report and highlighted the high total
number of patrons that utilize our parks and facilities.
Sjany Larson-Cash reported the Armory Shelter in Fullerton opened on November 14, 2014.
C.Parks Capital Project Progress Report Larry Pasco presented the report, provided updates and reported on the
following projects and answered questions regarding Ponderosa Park and Circle Park:
La Palma Dog Use Area A tentative opening date is scheduled for January 24, 2015. Construction continues.
Olive Hills Dog Use Area Construction will begin in spring 2015.
Little Peoples Park Project is scheduled to go to bid in February 2015.
Miraloma A tentative opening date is scheduled for January 31, 2015.
Paul Revere Park A tentative opening date is scheduled for January 10, 2015.
Ponderosa Park The Family Resource Center will be replaced and there will be major renovations to the park.
Project is scheduled to go to bid in fall 2015.
D.Senior Citizen Sub-Committee Report Commissioner Jensen reported a converter box was installed and the television
is now working at the Senior Center. She also reported the window coverings at the Senior Center are still broken
Sjany Larson-Cash stated staff continues to work with Facility Maintenance staff to hire a contractor to fix the blinds.

NEW BUSINESS
A.2015 Meeting Schedule (Tentative) A discussion was held to finalize the 2015 Parks and Recreation Commission
meeting schedule. Commissioner Anderson made a motion for the monthly meetings to be held on the 4 Wednesday of

the months January thru October, and for the November and December meetings to be combined and scheduled for
December 2, 2015; Commissioner Levy seconded the motion and Commissioners concurred. Motion approved.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS Vice Chairman Brennan reported Christmas caroling will take place at Servite High School on
December 5 at 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Christmas Tree Lightings scheduled for December 5in West Anaheim, December 6 at the Center Street

Promenade and December 7 in Anaheim Hills

Anaheim Beautiful will be holding a Holiday Lights contest for Anaheim residents
The Nutcracker will be held at The City National Grove of Anaheim
Anaheim Marketplace will be having a Toy Drive on December 5 and will be giving away 1,000 toys

Artic will have grand opening on December 13

Holiday gifts will be sold at the Senior Center on December 1 thru December 19

Sjany Larson-Cash shared the new Activity Guide for winter 2015 programs and activities.
