RESOLUTION NO. 2015- 141 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING TEMPORARY CLOSURES TO CALTRANS 1 -5 OFFRAMPS FOR TINKER BELL HALF MARATHON WHEREAS, the Tinker Bell Half Marathon weekend is scheduled for May 8 -10, 2015; and WHEREAS, approximately 14,000 runners and walkers will participate in this 10K and 13.1 mile course each way through the Disney theme parks and along City streets passing the Disney Ice, Anaheim City Hall, and Interstate 5 (I -5); and WHEREAS, safety along the course will require an approximate four -hour temporary closure of I -5 ramps at one location on Saturday, May 9, 2015 and at three locations on Sunday May 10, 2015; and WHEREAS, traffic control plans have been prepared, and a certificate of insurance has been prepared to the satisfaction of Caltrans; and WHEREAS, Disney agrees to reimburse Caltrans for costs of the traffic closures. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests temporary closures of up to four hours on May 9, 2015, between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. at: 1) southbound 1 -5 at Harbor Boulevard, and up to four hours on May 10, 2015, between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. at: 1) southbound I -5 at Harbor Boulevard; 2) southbound I -5 at Disney Way; and, 3) northbound I -5 at Harbor Boulevard.
