1. CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Chair
Henninger.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Henninger invited Board Member Kelso to lead the Board in reciting
the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS & PUBLIC COMMUNICATION
A. Scheduled Public Communication: None
B. Unscheduled Public Communication: None
4. CORRESPONDENCE
A. Incoming: Chair Henninger asked staff if Board Member Baeza submitted a resignation letter. Wendy
Solorio stated that to her knowledge a resignation letter had not yet been submitted.
B. Outgoing: None
5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Board Member Barnett made a motion to approve the meeting minutes of
April 9, 2015 meeting; Board Member Zlaket seconded the motion; motion passed with six ayes and no
abstentions.
6. NEW BUSINESS:
A. FY2014/2015 Mid -Year Presentations: The Board listened to updates presented by representatives of the
Lestonnac Free Clinic, Mariposa Women's & Family Center and the YWCA of North Orange County.
7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
A. FY2014/2015 CSB Liaison Assignments — Site Visits: Chair Henninger asked if any Board Members had
the opportunity to visit an organization. Vice Chair Cudd reported that she visited the Anaheim Family
YMCA Children's Station in March 2015 and met with John Guastaferro, V.P. of Marketing &
Development and Evette Nadolny, Program Director. Ms. Nadolny provided a tour of the facility that
provides child care services 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to approximately 60 - 80 children daily, ages 1- 5 years.
Vice Chair Cudd stated that the children are fed breakfast, lunch and a snack and they are encouraged to
take naps. She also stated that the CDBG funds are used to support low income families for three to six

months; John informed Chair Cudd that they had helped thirty-six Anaheim families to date with CDBG
funds. Vice Chair Cudd mentioned that the CDBG funds also help fund the YMCA Youth Sports/Fitness
classes and the Swim program. She noted that the CDBG funds cover about half the cost for 488
participants in the programs. Vice Chair Cudd stated that the facility was clean, the children were orderly,
and the security system at the facility was stellar.
B. FY2015/2016 CDBG Public Service Funding Process: Chair Henninger asked if the CDAC (Community
Development Advisory Committee) meeting date has been set. Wendy stated that as of yet staff has not
received confirmation from CDAC (Community Development Advisory Committee) regarding a scheduled
date for the CDAC meeting.
C. FY 2016/2017 Application Review: Wendy reported the pre -application workshop was scheduled for May
26"' from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for agencies to attend and ask questions about the CDBG funding process
and that the applications will be due back June 30"'.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Board Member Kelso reported that the City of Yorba Linda is having their
1st Annual Adoption Ceremony; honouring the traditions and history of the 11th Marine Expeditionary
Unit. It will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hurless Barton Park,
4601 Casa Loma Avenue.
Chair Henninger announced his new appointment to the Planning Commission and that he will be stepping
down at the end of June. He stated he is not quite sure when his replacement will start but would like to
have someone before August because it's our busiest time of the year. Chair Henninger also stated that
Board Member Trifa seat will be filled July ls` and Board Member Baeza has resigned from his position as
well.
