4907ORDINANCE NO. 4907
AN ORDINANCE OF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING
CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF TITLE 18 (ZONING) OF THE
ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO SIZES OF
PARKING SPACES FOR SMALL CARS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That subsection .020 of Section
18.06.040 of Chapter 18.06 of Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code be, and it is hereby, amended to read as follows:

Zone
MINIMUM DIMENSIONS OF PARKING SPACES
Except for parallel parking spaces which in any
zone shall have minimum dimensions of at least
eight (8) feet in width by twenty-two (22) feet
in length, the minimum dimensions of any
parking spaces shall be as follows:
Residential
Residential
Nonresidential
Type of Space Standard Car Small Car
coveredl or not
private garage 10' x 20' applicable
open 8-1/2' x 19' 8' x 15'
or
9' x 18'
covered 8-1/2' x 19' 8' x 15'
or open or
9' x 18'
1Minimum dimensions of covered residential
spaces may be reduced to 8-1/2' x 20' provided
said space is not adjacent to any wall, column,
pole or other structural element. The minimum
span between structural elements shall be 28-1/2'
and shall be subject to the approval of the
Building Department."
SECTTON 2_
SEVERABILITY
The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby declares
that should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this
ordinance of the Code, hereby adopted, be declared for any reason
to be invalid, it is the intent of the Council that it would have
passed all other portions of this ordinance independent of the
elimination herefrom of any such portion as may be declared
invalid.
SECTION 3. SAVINGS CLAUSE
Neither the adoption of this ordinance nor the repeal of
any other ordinance of this City shall in any manner affect the
prosecution for violations of ordinances, which violations were
committed prior to the effective date hereof, nor be construed as
a waiver of any license or penalty or the penal provisions
applicable to any violation thereof. The provisions of this
ordinance, insofar as they are substantially the same as ordinance
provisions previously adopted by the City relating to the same
subject matter, shall be construed as restatements and
continuations, and not as new enactments.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 1st day of March, 1988.
