A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM IDENTIFYING PROJECTS SCHEDULED FOR
FUNDING WITH THE 2008 URBAN AREAS SECURITY
INITIATIVE (UASI GRANT)
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (the "Grantor") invited
public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications to the Grantor for
the 2008 Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Grant Program (the "Grant and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2008 -136, the City of Anaheim authorized the
Chief of Police, Fire Chief, or their designees to submit a grant application for and on
behalf of the City of Anaheim, and further authorized the Anaheim Police Department
Homeland Security Director, the Anaheim Chief of Police, the Anaheim Fire Chief, or
the Anaheim Assistant City Manager to execute any actions necessary for the purpose
of obtaining federal financial assistance provided by the federal Department of
Homeland Security (the "Grantor and subgranted through the State of California,
including any extensions and amendments thereof desires to submit an application to
Grantor for said Grant; and
WHEREAS, the California Office of Homeland Security, which office administers
the Grant on behalf of Grantor, has advised the Anaheim Police Department Homeland
Security Director that prior to grant funding, the City Council must, by resolution, identify
the projects scheduled to be funded with the 2008 UASI Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the following overarching projects are scheduled to be funded by the 2008
UASI Grant:
Project Strengthen Interoperable Communications
Project Strengthen CBRNE Detection, Response, and
Decontamination
Project Enhance Regional Capability for Information Analysis /Sharing
for Terrorism and All- Hazards Incidents
Project Enhance Protection of Critical Infrastructures and Key
Resources
Project Citizen Preparedness and Participation
Project Enhance Homeland Security Training Program
Project Enhance Homeland Security Exercise Program
Project Management and Administration of the Grant
Project Mass Prophylaxis and Medical Surge
Project Regional Integrated Records Management System
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 3rd day of November 2008, by the
following roll call vote:
