CALL TO ORDER — The agenda having been posted at 11:00 a.m. on May 5, 2015, the regular meeting of the
Anaheim Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Chair Mathisen at 6:36 p.m.

L INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND COMMUNICATION FROM OTHERS:
A. FRIENDS OF THE ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT: The Friends welcomed a new member;
the Board is now up to 14. The Friends hosted a booth at the WAND BBQ and handed out flyers. The next
mixed media sale will be Saturday, August 15.
B. FRIENDS OF THE CANYON HILLS LIBRARY REPORT: Young Adult Author, Jessi Kirby discussed
her new book "Things we Know by Heart" on April 25. FOCAL provided refreshments for the event.
Nomination of officers for next year has begun and the new officers will be announced at the September
Meeting. The Panera fundraiser netted $84.64. FOCAL continues to share their donations with the other
Anaheim Public Libraries and community groups. Their next books sale will be July 20-25. The next
FOCAL meeting will be May 21, 2015.
C. ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION REPORT: No report.
D. UNSCHEDULED ORAL COMMUNICATION: None.
E. WRITTEN COMMUNICATION FROM OTHERS: Jennifer shared a thank you note from the Angels
Strike Force Team to our Bookmobile staff for National Bookmobile Day.
IL APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE APRIL 13, 2015 MEETING: MOTION: That the Board approve
the minutes of the April 13, 2015 meeting as presented. M/S: SO/DR 3 Ayes.

IV. NEW BUSINESS:
A. PONDEROSA PARK UPDATE: Pamela Galera presented plans to update the Ponderosa Park and Family
Resource Center.

A. CITY LIBRARIAN'S REPORT:
• The Central Library will be closed Saturday, May 23 to allow for parking lot resurfacing.
• City Council appointed Linda Esping to the Library Board beginning July 1, 2015.
