A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RESCINDING RESOLUTION 95R-59
DESIGNATING THE AREA LOCATED GENERALLY NORTH
OF ORANGEWOOD AVENUE AND EAST OF HASTER
STREET AS A "NO PARKING" AREA
WHEREAS, Section 14.32.370 of Chapter 14.32 of Title 14 of the Anaheim
Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to, by resolution, establish "No Parking" areas on
City streets; and
WHEREAS, on April 18, 1995, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 95R-59
designating the following locations as "No Parking" areas due to illegal activities being
conducted from cars parked in those areas which were inimical to the public health, safety and
welfare:
1. Haster Street, on both sides, from Orangewood Avenue to a point approximately
thirteen hundred feet (1300') northerly thereof; and
2. Orangewood Avenue, on both sides, from Haster Street to a point approximately
twelve hundred fifty feet (1250') easterly thereof, and
3. Mountain View Avenue, on both sides, from Orangewood Avenue to a point
approximately thirteen hundred feet (1300') northerly thereof, and
4. Sprague Lane, on both sides, from Orangewood Avenue to the northerly terminus
thereof; and
5. Wakefield Avenue, on both sides, from Haster Street to a point approximately
thirteen hundred feet (1300') easterly thereof, and
6. Leatrice Lane, on both sides, from Haster Street to a point approximately thirteen
hundred feet (1300') easterly thereof, and
7. Pearson Avenue, on both sides, from Sprague Lane to a point approximately one
thousand feet (1000') easterly thereof (collectively, the "No Parking Areas").
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 95R-59 has achieved its desired purpose, and the
City and the community believe that the No Parking Areas can be maintained in a safe and
habitable manner by collaborative efforts without banning parking in its entirety; and
WHEREAS, subsequently -enacted parking restrictions in surrounding
neighborhoods have severely restricted the available parking in the No Parking Areas, such that
residents in those Areas currently have limited parking options.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim, that Resolution No. 95R-59 is hereby rescinded and the following areas are no longer
designated as "No Parking" areas:
Haster Street, on both sides, from Orangewood Avenue to a point approximately
thirteen hundred feet (1300') northerly thereof.
2. Orangewood Avenue, on both sides, from Haster Street to a point approximately
twelve hundred fifty feet (1250) easterly thereof.
Mountain View Avenue, on both sides, from Orangewood Avenue to a point
approximately thirteen hundred feet (1300') northerly thereof.
4. Sprague Lane, on both sides, from Orangewood Avenue to the northerly terminus
thereof.
5. Wakefield Avenue, on both sides, from Haster Street to a point approximately
thirteen hundred feet (1300) easterly thereof.
6. Leatrice Lane, on both sides, from Haster Street to a point approximately thirteen
hundred feet (1300) easterly thereof.
7. Pearson Avenue, on both sides, from Sprague Lane to a point approximately one
thousand feet (1000) easterly thereof.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 8th day of December 2015, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Mayor Tait and Council Members Kring, Murray, Brandman,
and Vanderbilt
