A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND
USE ELEMENT OF THE ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN
DESIGNATED AS AMENDMENT NO. 2001-00396 (PART
1), EXHIBIT "A" (AMENDED)
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, pursuant to the
recommendations of the Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim, adopted a General Plan for the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of May, 2002, the City Planning
Commission of the City of Anaheim did hold a public hearing to
consider a General Plan Amendment. The General Plan Amendment
does consider changing the land use designation for the area of
land consisting of approximately 7.3 acres located south and east
of the southeast corner of Lincoln Avenue and Beach Boulevard
from the General Commercial designation to the Low-Medium Density
Residential and Police Station (P) designations; and that said
properties are additionally described as having approximate
frontages of 80 feet on the south side of Lincoln Avenue and
1,340 feet on the east side of Beach Boulevard, and being located
approximately 238 feet south of the centerline of Lincoln Avenue
(2970 West Lincoln Avenue and 120-320 South Beach Boulevard);
and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the City Planning
Commission did duly adopt its Resolution No. PC2002-60 containing
a report of its findings, a summary of the evidence presented at
said hearing, and recommending that said Amendment to the General
Plan designated as Amendment No. 2001-00396 be adopted by the
City Council changing the land use designation for the
aforedescribed area to "to Low Medium Density Residential and
Police Station (P)" in accordance with Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of said Resolution, summary of
evidence, report of findings and recommendations of the City
Planning Commission, the City Council did fix the 23rd day of
July, 2002, as the time, and the City Council Chamber in the
Civic Center as the place for a public hearing on said proposed
Amendment No. 2001-00396 and did give notice thereof in the
manner and as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did duly hold and conduct
such public hearing and did give all persons interested therein
an opportunity to be heard, and did receive evidence and reports
and did consider the recommendations of the City Planning
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that,
at this time, only adoption of said Amendment, hereinafter
designated as Amendment No. 2001-00396 (Part 1) adding the land
use designation of Police Station (P) in the aforedescribed area
in accordance with Exhibit "A" (Amended) on file with the City
should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Amendment No. 2001-00396 (Part 1) to
the General Plan adding the land use designation for the
aforedescribed area to "Police Station (P)" in accordance with
Exhibit "A" (Amended) on file with the City be, and the same is
hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Department be,
and it is hereby, instructed to amend the General Plan Map to
conform to General Plan Amendment No. 2001-00396 (Part 1) as
herein adopted and approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby
defers consideration of the remaining portion of proposed General
Plan Amendment No. 2002-00396 for a period of ninety (90) days.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 23rd day of July, 2002.
