CONSENT CALENDAR ITEMS 1 - 4: On motion by Chairman Daly, seconded by Agency Member Zemel,
the following actions were authorized in accordance with the reports and recommendations furnished each
Agency Member and as listed on the Consent Calendar Agenda.
161: Approving design development drawings for Anaheim Plaza Phase II/Orchard Supply
Hardware and Office Max (north of Crescent Avenue), and authorizing the Executive Director to
approve final construction drawings.
Chairman, Tom Daly. More good news is that Anaheim Plaza is preparing to expand to the north;
renderings are posted on the Chamber wall. Additional stores will be brought to Anaheim Plaza which is a
very successful Redevelopment project.
2. 161: Approving the conceptual art plan prepared by Buster Simpson for Koll Anaheim Center.
Susan Klaren, on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, stated this is a project the Chamber got involved in
about a year ago as part of their Centennial efforts and an opportunity to recognize the 100 years that the
Anaheim Chamber has been in existence. They have been negotiating back and forth for about a year.
What Mr. Simpson (the artist) is going to present is a collaboration of both Redevelopment and the
Chamber's involvement. The Chamber will be contributing $15,000 to the project to present a physical
manifestation of both the Redevelopment and the Chamber's cooperation and the cooperation between the
City and the business community. She hopes the Agency will consider this item favorably and they look
forward to working on it. Mr. Simpson has the heart and soul of an artist, but the mind of a businessman.
Chairman Daly. Buster Simpson is recommended to actually design and install the art referred to which will
be just a block from the City Hall building. There is a description of the art project in the background
materials and Mr. Simpson is also present. He is a well-known name in Anaheim and has done previous
art projects in the City.
123: Approving an Agreement by and among the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, the City of
Anaheim, and Jamboree Housing Corporation for a 48 unit affordable townhouse-style and
carriage fiat condominium project to be located at 608 West Vermont Street.
