City Hall, Anaheim, California - COUNCIL MINUTES - July 12, 1978, 2:00 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Anaheim met in adjourned regular
session.
PRESENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Overholt, Kaywood (arrived at 2:10 p.m.), Kott,
Roth and Seymour
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
PRESENT: CITY MANAGER: William 0. Talley
CITY ATTORNEY: William P. Hopkins
DEPUTY CITY CLERK: Leonora N. Sohl
Mayor Seymour called the adjourned regular meeting to order at
2:08 p.m.
RECESS - EXECUTIVE SESSION: Councilman Kott moved to recess into Executive
Session to discuss personnel matters and potential litigation. Councilman Roth
seconded the motion. Councilwoman Kaywood was absent. MOTION CARRIED. (2:09 P.M.)
Councilwoman Kaywood entered the Council Chamber and went into the Executive
Session. (2:10 P.M.)
AFTER RECESS: Mayor Seymour called the meeting to order, all Council Members
being present. (8:29 P.M.)
153/156: MEDICAL RETIREMENT - RICHARD J. PLUMMER: On motion by Councilman
Seymour, seconded by Councilman Kott, the City Manager was directed to institute
proceedings under Sections 21028 and 21029 to medically examine Richard J. Plummer
to determine if disability retirement pension and status should be continued.
MOTION CARRIED.
On motion by Councilman Seymour, seconded by Councilman Roth, the City Council
determined after review of the City Attorney's report concerning Mr. Plummer
that there does not appear to have been any illegal conduct involving the handling
of the retirement of Mr. Plummer. MOTION CARRIED.
Mayor Seymour stated that the City Council will continue its investigation of
this matter and intends to confer with the Chief of Police regarding this inves-
tigation.
ADJOURNMENT: Councilwoman Kaywood moved to adjourn. Councilman Kott seconded
the motion. MOTION CARRIED.
