Jane Newell reported that staff, after due consideration,
has decided to pursue the options offered by the Redevelopment
Agency regarding the relocation of the Mother Colony House.
William Griffith, Special Projects Director, is currently
investigating cost figures, etc.
Board members discussed the Redevelopment Agency offer.
Marion Harvey stated that the house would be diminished by
the taller surrounding buildings and that parking would be
inadequate. Doug Renner stated that the only purpose to
relocate the house was if it was to a better location and
that the house should be left where it is unless it is a
liability to the city. Peggy Hoag felt that the only option
offered that would work was 3A. Harold Bastrup expressed
concern about security at the Center and Olive Streets site,
siting the problems the Museum is having with the homeless.
Doug Renner moved, and Marion Harvey seconded, that upon
receiving the Redevelopment Agency options and giving them
due consideration, that the Board recommend to the City
