ORDINANCE NO. 1975
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING
46 TITLE 18 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE BY
AMENDING CHAPTER 18.40, SECTION 18.40.010;
CHAPTER 18.48, SECTION 18.48.010, PARAGRAPH
(2)-(a); AND CHAPTER 18.64, SECTION 18.64.020,
PARAGRAPH (3) THEREOF, AND BY DELETING THERE-
FROM ITEM (24), SECTION 18.48.010, CHAPTER 18.48.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l:
That Title 18, Chapter 18.40, Section 18.40.010 of
the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended
by adding thereto Item (31) reading as follows:
"CHAPTER 18.40 -- C-1, NEIGHBORHOOD -
COMMERCIAL ZONE.
"SECTION 18.40.010 USE.
"(31) Automobile Service Stations, limited to those
sites located at the intersection of two high-
ways desi nated as major (120 feet), primary
(106 feet or secondary (90 feet) highways on
the Circulation Element of the General Plan,
EXCEPT where the site is within 75 feet of any
R -E, R-0, R-1, R-2 or R-3 Zone, or any residen-
tial structure in an R -A Zone. All stations
shall be developed and maintained in accordance
with Service Station Site Development Standards
adopted by resolution of the City Council."
SECTION 2•
That Title 18, Chapter 18.48, Section 18.48.010,
Paragraph (2)-(a) of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"CHAPTER 18.48 -- C-3, HEAVY
COMMERCIAL ZONE.
"SECTION 18.48.010 USE.
"(2) - (a) All uses shall be conducted wholly within a
building except such uses customarily conducted in the
open, such as drive-in restaurants, electrical sub-
stations and nurseries."
SECTION 3•
That Title 18, Chapter 18.64.020, Paragraph (3) of
the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:

"CHAPTER 18.64 -- CONDITIONAL USES.
"SECTION 18.64.020 USE.
"(3) The following uses are determined to be incom-
patible with, and shall not be allowed in the
R -E, R-0, R-1, R-2, R-3 and C-0 Zones, but may
be permitted in the R -A, C-1, C-2, C-3, M-1 and
M-2 Zones, subject to conditional use permit,
provided that no conditional use permit shall
be required in any zone in which such use is
specifically and unconditionally permitted:
(a) Airports and aircraft landing fields.
(b) Ambulances and ambulance services.
(c) Animal hospitals and kennels.
(d) Automobile sales agencies and lots.
(e) Automobile service stations.
(f) Billboards.
(g) Car washes.
(h) Columbariums, crematories, and mausoleums.
(i) Equestrian establishments.
(j) Establishments or enterprises involving large
assemblages of people or automobiles including
but not limited to the following:
1. Amusement parks.
2. Circuses, carnivals, rodeos, or fair-
grounds, except temporary activities
which are governed by the regulations
of Chapter 3.32 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code.
3. Drive-in or walk-up restaurants.
4. Labor camps.
5. Open air theaters.
6. Privately operated parks and recreational
facilities.
7. Race tracks.
(k) Institutions for treatment of alcoholics.
(1) Jail farms or honor farms used for
rehabilitation of prisoners.
(m) Mental hospitals.

(n) Mortuaries.
(o) Pawn shops.
(p) Planned unit shopping centers which comply
with the land use proposals as set forth
on the Comprehensive General Plan.
(q) Post offices
(r) Public utilities or utilities operated by
mutual agencies consisting of electrical
substations, gas or conversion plants with
the necessary buildings, apparatus or
appurtenances incident thereto, but not
including distribution mains or electric
or telephone wires or cables or city -owned
public utilities.
(s). Radio or television transmitters.
(t) Transportation terminals."
SECTION 4:
That Title 18, Chapter 18.48, Section 18.48.010 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended by
deleting therefrom; -Item (24) Super Service Station.
SECTION 5•
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after
its final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me
this 10th day of March 1964,

duly passed and adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council
held on the 10th -day of March, 1964, by the following vote of the
members thereof:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim approved and signed said Ordinance No. 1975 on the 10th
day of March, 1964.
