The minutes of June 10, ]965 were approved as written and mailed°
OAKLAND STADIUM
Mr. Liegler showed newspaper clipping of the new Oakland Stadium with pertinent
facts, to the Commissioners for their information~ He explained that the
Stadium Office is retaining all information on other stadiums in their files
and will relate new information to the StadiumC~m'[s~ion, so they may easily keep
abreast of current happenings regarding other stadiums.
STADIUM REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
Mr. Liegler reviewed in detail the items of discussion that were on the agenda of
the Stadium Review Committee meeting held j~ne 4, 1965o He explained the basic
purpose of the meeting and the decisions made, and will report results of all
future meetings of the Stadium Review Committee to the Commission~
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Cai Winfrey and Mr. Doug Farley' were present to further discuss rental costs
for the Anaheim Convention Center.
Mr. Winfrey was successful in obtaining rental schedules from many facilities in
the Southern California area. This information along with the information
received by Mr. Liegler will be charted foz further review and to be included
in the portfolios~
1. A minimum fee schedule of all Convention Center facilities should be placed
on file but the sales arm shou]d have flexibility in contracting above that
minimum.

Mr. Farl. ey told of a unique room scheduling system w'hich will denote an up-t:o-date-
listing of all hotel bedrooms and mee. ti'ng rooms booked on rut:ute dates° This
would be valuable to the convention center manager, the sales force, hotel operators,
and other businessmen°
Mr. Liegler pointed out: t'hat after establishing rental fees, the next step will.
be to establish schedulin~olicies.
Mr. Winfrey suggested t'hat a convention using a high rate of Anaheim hotel rooms
receive a "bonus" by a reduced convention center rental, cost°
OPEN HOUSE~DRESS REHEARSAL REVIEW
Commissioner Currier reported that 'h.e has been contacted by several groups
that are interested in working on this project but as yet he has not been able
to meet with Ben Shroeder, and the Chamber of' Commerce° He expects to meet with
them next week°
Commissioner Knisel.y report:ed that he. will. be in 'Kansas City, Missouri next week
and will be viewing the operations of! their con'vention center and stadium°
MOTION:
Commissioner' Currier moved that the Commission request the City
Council. to authorize Commissioner Knisely to act a.s an official
representative of the City of Anaheim to inspect t'he convention
center and stadium facilities in Kansas City, Missouri, and that
the amount of $1.00 be allotted for promotional expenses.
