SOD FARM
Mr. Liegler discussed the sod farm in relation to the racing association and the stadium
operation° The choice of a sod farm had to be determined so it could be seeded to be
ready for a year from now° Two of the 17 acres along the river bank will be used as a
sod farm during 1965-66o This particular location will be convenient for watering pur-
poses and close enough to the road without interfering with construction of Orangewood
Avenue and the bridge over the Santa Ana River° The City of Anaheim Parks and Recrea-
tion Department will seed and maintain the sod farm.
REVIEW OF 1965-66 STADIUM BUDGET
Mro Liegler distributed copies of the Convention Center and Stadium Budget to the
Cormnissionerso A long review was made of the budget and the Commission noted that
only expense was therein listed° Income will be listed elsewhere in the overall
budget submitted to City Council°
Mr. Liegler pointed out that under contract, the City of Anaheim (subject to the approv-
al of the Angels) are the operators, and in reality, the combination of an Angel and a
City representative (under approved authority) are in control of same. The Angels, by
contract, will reimburse the City for most expenses during their residency°
